Four Winds Motel - Motel in Seaside Heights - 17 Kearney Ave, USA

Not a very pleasant experience at this hotel. Arrived Friday late afternoon and checked in. Room was very old looking, it appeared as if it hadn't been updated in decades. It wasn't very clean either. Beds were horrible. It felt like sleeping sideways as one side of the bed tilted downwards. After the first night, we were already feeling sore and tired from not sleeping well. Saturday morning I wanted to get an early start so I attempted a shower only to find no hot water. Tried to contact management but no one in the office and no one would answer the phone. A few hours later I finally got someone on the phone who started yelling at me that I had to run the water for 20 minutes and then it would get hot. Seriously. Second night of sleeping in the beds and the pain was too much so we ended up leaving a day early as neither one of us could take another night there. For the price we paid for the room, the experience should have been much better. Terrible place to stay and will never stay there or recommend this place to anyone.

All I will say is that you get what you pay for. The mattress was uncomfortable. The bathroom sink was stained. The shower did not work for us and the knob was coming out of the wall when we tried to use the shower. When we notified the onsite manager about the shower, he was more worried about proving the shower worked after extreme manipulation to get it to work rather than ensure that we were satisfied. We will be staying elsewhere next time we are in Seaside Heights.

BED BUGS! A group of us reserved three rooms for a one night stay. When we arrived at our "Non smoking" room, there was an intense cigarette smell but we didn't notice bugs until later into the stay. When we returned later that evening we noticed bugs on both the sheets and on our clothes. There was no one working the front desk at that time so we were unable to get new rooms and had to sleep in our cars. When we notified the manager the next morning he told us it was impossible (despite us showing him the pictures we took as proof) and told us there were no bed bugs. He also blamed us for bringing them into the motel with us. He refused to refund us for our stay. Not only are bed bugs unacceptable but the customer service, if you can even call it that, was embarrassing. We spent our entire next day packing our belongings in trash bags, throwing out our suitcases, doing laundry, and spraying our cars with Raid. All of the protective measures after were paid for out of pocket since the manager refused to even provide us with more than 2 trash bags. It is seriously worth paying more for a room elsewhere or staying further from the boardwalk to avoid this place that is swarming with bugs and some of the rudest employees I've ever interacted with.

For the money the stay was exactly as expected. The room was what you need, beds, bathroom, fridge. The AC was ice cold and the pool was pretty good. The highlight was actually the man who manages the motel. He was incredibly nice, he found a parking spot for me even though I had to leave for a while in the middle of the night. He asked us if we wanted the pool open longer so he'd stay longer to supervise. For the money and the proximity to the beach i would stay again. I know the motels in seaside aren't super nice but this one served it's purpose and had a great manager to add to it.

Place was horrible, as soon as I opened the door. The room as a horrible smell, ac does not cool room at all, and fridge doesn’t work. No top it I witness the “cleaners” going in just switching the fitted sheets with clean ones but leaving the same blanket when people leave.I wouldn’t recommend to no one! Only good thing is that it’s close by everything else is horrible!!!!

I understand it’s a 2 star motel but I’d at least expect for the rooms to be clean. The mirrors were dirty, bed side table sticky with a black ring from the lamp on it, the shower had hair in it. On top of the room being dirty there was a note on the DIRTY table demanding we tip housekeeping. For what?! The subpar cleaning and mediocre staff? Then we had some staff member lie to the manager and tell them we had 11 people in our room at night when we only had 6 people 2 of which who arrived earlier in the morning, but also the manager was extremely rude and accused us of having so many people in the room. If you want to feel comfortable, safe and not feel like you’re being watched don’t stay here!

The appearance of this place tells you everything as you arrive. The place stinks, and it’s not presentable or clean. If you don’t smoke or the cigarette/smoke bothers you, I strongly suggest that you go somewhere else. People smoke everywhere in the motel, by the pool, the deck, and everywhere. The owner/manager and his “helpers” also smoke. You find cigarette butts by your door, window, even floating in the pool. The manager is very rude and doesn’t know how to conduct business.

Location is great. Just a block away from the beach. The service was incredible. The manager, Kristopher, was extremely accommodating and answered the phone every time I called with a question. The staff was helpful with getting us the things we requested. There is no daily housekeeping but we liked not being bothered and they had no issues accommodating our housekeeping requests. The pool was great, even with multiple families using it it's still comfortable to lounge by. Bring some extra towels and pillows, i was happy I did. The beds need some updating, but other than that I was definitely pleased.
