WOW!!! My wife and I love the Four Seasons brand, and over the past few years have planned most of our trips around staying at Four Seasons properties. While we live in California, we had not yet visited the Calistoga property. For our 20th anniversary we decided to book a quick trip to celebrate and check it out. Apparently this is a relatively newer Four Seasons, having just started in 2020/2021, and is attached to the Elusa Winery. ||The property is nestled into the valley with beautiful views surrounding the premises. The front office manager Franz was absolutely fantastic, connecting with us prior to our stay as well as within a few hours of us arriving. ||Let me just say that the rooms are phenomenal! All Four Seasons have their own unique style, charm, and personality, but this one is pretty spectacular. The scents from their bath products (Le Labo Hinoki) were enchanting, and the entire room experience alone was worth it for us. However, the pool and restaurants, and sunsets are magical. ||One of our favorite moments of our quick excursion was being able to check out bikes from the front desk. We rode into downtown Calistoga and checked out some of the shops and dining experiences. It's just a 15 min ride and a fun experience.||Four Seasons staff, you are truly incredible! Thank you for being a part of our lives over the past few years, and we look forward to our next stay with you. 20 years in the books for us with many adventures planned ahead.||Get ready for us, Four Seasons Madrid! You're next on our list.

This location is very quiet so that will be a plus or negative depending upon your preferences without a ton to do. Most are out wine tasting and coming back late afternoon. We went across the street for live music at the Auberge and had drinks at Pico Bar and ate at Sol Bar at Auberge - super fun and excellent food.||We paid for a standard cabana which was not worth it. You would not even know they were rentals as they are simply 2 chaise lounges under a cover. The sides do not close completely and are about 1/3 the length so you move it as the sun moves. The deluxe cabanas which are $650 vs $350 are a true cabana. The service was the same as any chair at the pool. ||Staff is courteous and did a great job. Breakfast was good. Rooms are your standard high wine country level.

Love Napa so was excited to stay at this location after it was newly built. Had a room facing vineyard and seating on the balcony which was nice as I watched bunnies hoping around. Golf cart available as you move around the property. Eat around both restaurants onsite, Truss and Michelin star restaurant (Auro) which was excellent !! Had nice bottle of wine in our room upon arrival along with some delicious sweets. Wine worth $125 per bottle and apparently only given out to Four Seasons Napa guests since winery is onsite.

Our family loves staying at Four Seasons hotels, however this particular hotel was disappointing. ||1. check in - we were offered sparkling water or sparkling wine, but when we requested sparkling water, we were told there were no available and were handed room temperature bottled water on a hot day. Our kids were not offered anything. |2. The room itself was fine, albeit the beds were full size beds so it was tight for an adult and a child to sleep on. |3. Housekeeping - there were a number of small misses - left a robe on the desk instead of hanging it up, dirty table that was not wiped, refilled coffee pods with only decaf pods, didn't replace all the towels, sprayed a fragrance containing spray on one of the nights so we had to air out the room for 30 minutes. Definitely no sunglasses with wipes like other FS. Turndown service provided water for 2 people although there were 4 people staying in the room.|4. Golf cart - The resort is spread out with individual buildings. Our daughter was sick and could not walk. The golf cart required multiple phone calls over a span of over 20 minutes to arrive to help us. This was the experience multiple times through out our stay. We were told that the staff was overwhelmed, but when we walked over once (tired of waiting), there were people there and empty golf carts.|5. Pool - we were told there were kids pool toys but then told later that there were none. The family pool was extremely shallow, which is great for kids 6 and under but not for older kids.|6. Kids for all seasons - small room with a partition. There was a nice lady working there but the activities were geared towards younger kids (5 and under). There was a TV and one movie that the kids were interested in, but we were told since some parents may not want kids to watch TV, it was not possible to have it on.|7. Kids experience was lackluster. There was no welcome amenity, no stuffed animals, kids were generally not acknowledged.|8. Truss - Breakfast was fly ridden with some waitstaff who were inexperienced. Not the usual gracious experience. Dinner was disappointing. Dry house bread (not complimentary), completely burnt kid's pizza, lackluster Cesar salad. Inconsistent experience. We told them we were splitting the meal and they nicely plated the salad separately for us, but left the next two courses as is.|9. Water. No refillable water stations (bad for the environment). I asked for water at the front and was taken to the staff back office to fill my kids' water bottles. The water bottles provided by the hotel were also remarkably hard to twist open.|10. Tap water in the bathroom - noticed an algae odor when using the hot water in the bathroom at night.||Pros:|1. Breakfast (the food) at Truss was generally good.|2. Spa - there was no gift shop on the premises but there were some merchandise at the spa, so we went there to shop. The staff was really nice to our kids and showed them a puzzle with they found very entertaining.||Conclusion - we really wanted to like this experience, but there were just so many misses. Unfortunately, when we come back to Napa, we will have to try other hotels in the area.

The setting is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms are all very private and have wonderful views. We enjoyed our patio multiple nights as well as the amazing restaurant Truss. Everything was top notch…and the staff was great. They exceeded our expectations so we will definitely be back!

My wife and I just returned from an exceptional 3 night stay at the Four Seasons Resort Napa Valley. We are loyal fans of the Four Seasons brand and this resort delivered a truly 5-star experience in every way from the quality of the property to the service. The location of the resort in the northern part of the Napa valley provide for both convenience to the numerous wineries while still providing for a relaxing and peaceful stay.||We loved the layout of the property and the rooms. Our Palisades room on the second floor was spacious, quiet, and had a very large balcony that overlooked the vineyards and Palisades mountains. Everything from the vaulted ceiling in this particular room and the spacious and luxurious wet room showcased the design attention to detail.||The service and genuine hospitality that was extended by everyone at this resort is what truly made our stay great. In what remains a very challenging time to find exceptional staff in hospitality, it is clear that the General Manager and leadership team of this resort are not only navigating these challenges but they are truly leading, training, and developing a culture that is apparent in each team member. To name a few, I want to thank Carlos and Marco at the Truss Bar, Adam and Lorenzo in Auro, and Miguel in both restaurants. These team members provided exceptional service even over the busy July 4th holiday weekend, and were successful in creating the relaxing wine weekend getaway that we were looking forward to.
