Fossil Rim Wildlife Center - Wildlife and safari park in Glen Rose - 2299 Co Rd 2008, USA

Wonderful! The animals are very well cared for and the tours are a must! You only short change yourself by driving through yourself! the guide was incredibly knowledgeable and loved her job! The work done here for the animals cannot be overstated as they not only care for but also help to save many of the species from becoming extinct. Again the tours are really the best way to experience this wonderful place.

We had a house full of family and kids for Thanksgiving week and was looking for something to do. This place was great. The kids and adults loved it. Feeding the animals was the highlight. The only downside was the cool weather. There were giraffes, big birds (ostriches) or zebras anywhere to be seen. We will go back, but in warmer weather.

In Fossil Rim we spent almost 4 hours including the outlook. It was a really very good experience. The animals were mostly very up close but the only 2 things that were disappointing were that, 1 they gave us only 1 bag of food for the animals and thinking about how much we love animals that 1 bag was not enough.We would like it if they gave us more bags even if we had to buy it. 2 We were disappointed because at the start they told us that the weather was cold so they wouldn't let the giraffe out and when we got to the giraffes we saw that the giraffes were basically out but just behind the fence so we thought that what was the problem in letting them out all the way. But really that is it everything was very nice and fulfilling our desires.

We thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience. There were numerous animals, and it was delightful to feed them, especially the giraffes, which the kids loved. The only disappointment was that we arrived a bit late at 3 PM, and we didn't see many animals approaching the car. I believe the early morning hours are the right time to witness animals up close.

Went on the self-guided tour on the weekend. When you reach the gate to check in they provided a cone of food to throw outside for bringing animals closer. We were hoping to stop at the cafe that was midway on the tour but unfortunately was closed. I do like the self pacing of the safari and can spend time focusing on certain animals. One downside though is some cars do not follow the rules so you have to wait at times for space to drive around them. Animals do block the road so be sure to have food available to lure them away or can bring them closer to feed. By the end we still had a good amount of food so the last animals at the gate got a feast. Was a different experience and wouldn't mind going again to check out the regular tour.

A nice place to visit with family and friends. No need to worry about walking long distance as it is a drive through park. You get a free pack to feed the animals. You can see animals approaching your car including giraffes and zebras.

Coolest experience ever! We did the self-tour. We came around noon on Saturday, just a few cars front of us, but took us almost 2 hours to drive thru. We got to hand-feed the giraffes from our car ❤️ (food pellets were given from the place, no purchase, one pack per car). Many animals. They are so smart: they know who has food and come asking, some waterbuck (antelope) even ‘knocked’ on the car asking for food 😀 the giraffe even tried to put its head into my car (window only half open) when I was slow giving out the food 😅, they know how to properly cross the road too… Tips: choose a nice weather day, there will be more animals; come before/around noon so there won’t be many cars front of you, or you would have to wait for a long time.

What a rad little safari in the middle of Texas. You get to be up close and personal with quite a few animals. Hand feed giraffes, see zebras up close, and they even had a white rhino! It's all anout conservation, and the animals aren't in tight cages like at a zoo. Highly recommend!
