We came for the annual Muster in December, one of the best months to visit. The actors were great, kids tagging along both as guests and families staying the night inside the fort. What an awesome experience for a young person. Note both boys and girls, some tomboys just hanging out with adults seeing history.
This place comes in 3 parts: the State Park, the historic area (extra charge) and the RV/camping area (accessible only if you have a permit). The state park area has one halfway decent hiking trail and a playground/picnic/pier area. If you happen to be in the area it's ok just don't go out of your way unless you want to stay, fish or see the historic site.
Very nice informative historic museum. Video room with pertinent video describing the war Era. Displays throughout. Fee required to enter.
Very cool visit! The fort has a good walking tour with map. They closed at 4:30, so plan accordingly. Very well done. Grounds were nicely maintained. The gentleman at the gate was hilarious! Very nice young man in the museum.
What a great place to visit. We learned a lot!
Excellent tour guide and then I was pleasantly surprised with live reenactment excellent!
Really good experience took about 2 hours to walk the museum and the fort itself.. the map is well done for the self guide tour had a great time
Good museum with good amount of information on the area in general and Ft McAllister in particular. I was grateful that it wasn't partial to the southern cause, as some of these sites can be.

Quaint clean little place. First time here for breakfast and not my last. We had omelets, potatoes and rye toast. Good service, great food. The omelet was packed full. They certainly didnât skimp on ingredients. Warn you the coffee âï¸ lea
OMG!!! This is a hidden little gem off of the beaten path. Let me give you a glimpse of our dining experience. This place is dripping with some saucy sauce. They greet you at the door and welcome you in with excellent customer service. Wait, It does
The best damn coffee I have ever had at a breakfast spot. I've been a fancy coffee snob for the better part of half a decade and this coffee tastes like I had made a pour over with the freshest beans imaginable. It had a subtle sweetness, with notes
Great local spot. Chill atmosphere and busy weekends. Staff is awesome and they have alot of tvs, 2 pool tables, darts and other games and golden tee golf â³ï¸ ð
A delightful surprise! We stopped staying at Best Western because we were consistently dissatisfied with several stays about a year ago. It seems Best Western is stepping up its game. This hotel was super clean and the staff friendly. Breakfast w
Hidden gem in a small shopping center. The staff was friendly and while we are passing by; found this listing while on a long ride off 95, we witnessed locals coming in. We watched how several staff talked and laughed with the repeat customers. That
