What a spectacular location steeped in history! The beauty of the raw outdoors! There was ample signage to understand the history of the location! The place is sprawling, and serene! Definitely worth a visit when you are in Wilmington! We did not go to the beach, but there is a really beautiful beach across the street from the historic site! If you're looking for a beautiful walk, and an opportunity to walk in peace under the shade of beautiful trees, this is the place to be! The ocean on one side, and the wet lands on the other. We did visit the visitor center. It's a small beautiful location with lots of artifacts.
First time visiting this Fort and boy, was i impressed by its history and the story boards of the soldiers experiences laid out on the trail. Inside the museum they had incredible dioramas depicting the battles and such. Highly recommend adding this, and the whole Wilmington, NC area, to your bucket list.
Otherworldly scenes adjacent to the NC coastline. Live Oak trees and battlements torn from another epoch. Close to the NC Aquarium and all of its treasures too.
It is a nice little museum and battle site. The staff was nice. The student intern that did the Rifle demonstration did a great job and was full of information. They are in the process of building an addition. I will visit again.
Beautiful and historic. Clean beaches. I went to study the Coquina . It was such a pleasant setting I wanted to spend the whole day. I'll definitely be back.
The trail is an enjoyable loop that goes around the historic fort with beautiful scenery and cool artifacts. Surprised on how big the for actually was. They are doing a lot of construction there so it should be even better in the future!
An piece of American history. Wonderful little museum, and the grounds are well worth raising the heat to explore. The Gillette family connection is also remarkable, and who knew Tiffany made sabers?
Very interesting. I learn something new every time I go!! They're still excavating on the grounds. I can't wait to see the new building finished.

If I lived nearby, I'd be a regular here. Fresh ingredients and tasty food. The fries were especially good. My friend loved her B.L.E.A.T sandwich which is their special twist to a BLT. We also got a mini key lime pie to go. Staff is all super f
A hidden gem in Kure Beach. I can give my stamp of approval that the Italian food here is well done. I grew up in an Italian family, and this is one of the few restaurants that put fresh basil in the pasta. A sweet surprise for me! Delicious! The shr
