Absolutely wonderful bow range it has targets out to 80 yards and has walking trails with shooting ranges along the way to help your judgement of yardage to shoot, it has a platform to shoot down from , it has an area to clean deer its just a nice peaceful area you could spend hours at and have fun if you use a bow
The conservation area is much more than just shooting ranges. There are MILES of trails and roads to explore. Little ponds, small fields, old roads with the ruins of homesteads on them, and Gibson Spring has a picnic table. Lots of horse trails here, too. You can enter from all four sides of the park area.
Great place to get a hike in. Just be aware, hunting is allowed here and there are archery and shooting ranges. They are well marked. It would be nice if all trails were kept mowed, but you might have to walk through some brush to get to some spots.
Trails are easy for trail riding. Also very good for small carts. They are kept mowed. Would like to see the trail by the pond on the hill opened up. Thanks for all the work you do for the horseback riders.
Went out to the rifle range to sight in a new scope. It's nice to have this range available.
Me and my longtime friend have been going to Conservation Gun Range for several years now. It is free to public and they even provide free targets to use. Bring a heavy duty stapler to attach targets. They have covered outdoor 25, 50, and 100 yard ranges. 100 yard range not covered. Also an area for shotguns. It is self monitored so please use gun safety. They have a restroom like you would see on a construction site. The area is very well kept.
A very nice shooting range. It's too bad that some people don't respect it and appreciate it. Regardless of some of the vandalism, it is still a very nice shooting range with nice shooting tables and adequate targets. It is not controlled with the range officer so use your head when you are shooting there especially around other people. Be smart, be respectful and be safe. I shoot down here as often as I can and I enjoy the range and appreciate it.
If you like shooting pistols and rifles. This is a convenient free range. The day I was there as busy. Although ppl did take turns fairly. A range for 25 yards to 100. Bring hearing and protective eye wear for the occasional case launching. A structure unisex toilet is present. It is asked to respectfully pickup after yourself policy including as many casings as possible. Only fair since it is free and only closed for maintenance Mondays. Opened sunrise to sundown.
Beautiful park. I'm not sure if it's allowed but would be great place for the kids to play in the water on a hot day. There is a machine fish food pellets to feed the fish for a quarter. Interesting place/history.
