Food Lion - Grocery store in Winston-Salem - 2530 Somerset Center Dr, USA

This is my local Food Lion so God knows I love the employees, but damn it’s been rough in there lately. Moldy berries that aren’t being culled, A2 milk in the fridges that have been expired since Christmas, and of course the one snack I didn’t double check was expired - likely because it’s in the gluten-free section. Corporate needs to give the good ones more hours or something, because it’s not always this way. If you have food allergies or special dietary needs, please double check your items before grabbing them. For your own sake!

To start with the good. The managers and stockers seem really nice and are always helpful. But, the produce is almost always empty and what is available you have to dig through or you'll end up with rotten produce. Now, for some reason cashier 0217 (according to the receipt) absolutely hates me for some reason lol. Now I've seen him speak to other customers so I'm guessing it's just me. I've been through his line 3 times. The first time he threw the divider between my groceries and nothing lol. He had already rang up the other person. I thought ok oops. So I apologized. Nothing. Dead stare. Won't even tell me my total. The next time I'm like okay I better put this divider down so he doesn't get mad. (I thought it. I didn't say it!) He picks it up and throws it back to the side. Like ok I guess he just wants to throw it at me or something and this is his compromise lol. I've seen him ask the person in front of me how they are. So when he doesn't say anything I'll ask how he is. No response. Again, not even my total. Hands me the receipt I say have a good day and he ignores me. Twice I'd think ok he's having a rough day. I've worked retail I get it. But, the third time? Come on. He's laughing with co workers and greeting other customers. Once again he throws the divider. So, do I put it down or leave it out? Regardless of what I do he doesn't like it. I get it, you don't want to speak to me at all. Not even tell me my total. But why is he throwing things? I've worked grocery retail. I never would have treated a customer like that. My store would have written you up for that attitude. Between bad produce, rude cashiers, and slow lines I think I'd rather pay a few dollars more at Harris Teeter. At least my produce is fresh and shelf items aren't expired. The bad part is I live walking distance to this Food lion so I'd probably be in daily but I'd rather deal with traffic than go back in there. If you like Food lion maybe try Country club or the one towards Clemmons. I definitely don't recommend this one.

Clean Great prices Good deals. The club card helped me save a lot. The young light skin black girl at the cash register with the half up half down hairstyle was sooooo helpful and she had first class customer service. She went into detail on all the saving promotions that the supermarket had. She even went into detail with the food lion app and I didn't even ask. Very helpful. She needs a promotion.

Need a self checkout. I could've paid, and been out the door 20 minutes earlier. Nice store, but without self-checkout, it's definitely NOT in the top 10 OF foodlions, in the area! Do better Foodlion!

No toilet paper in the bathroom, and smells horrible, the walls look like they don't clean them, along with the floors. I feel like I need a bleach bath after that.

My visit was quick and easy. No long lines. Very clean and great customer service!

Best place to get hard to find products. I have found things here I had to have shipped from California!

Be prepared to wait in line for 30 minutes. Only two registers open on Sunday afternoon.
