Excuse me for not replying fully to this review. We came to this restaurant past the half of July 2023 because occasionally we would pass by this location on the side of the road on our way to Huntsville and wondered to ourselves how good was this place actually? We found out it was a family restaurant which was something we were looking for. We drove all the way to from Gadsden to eat here, due to the fact that we keep coming to the same normal places we visit. Well when we drove to the parking lot I saw a number of cars parked there, which was a good sign. Once we entered we needed to wait maybe Almost 20 minutes to sit. Upon sitting down me and my parents saw this restaurant to be a good atmosphere. As a resident of Gadsden it is a shame that we don’t have a decent family restaurant as they do in Albertville. We just have fast food, huddle house or Cracker Barrel which is disappointing. To start our orders I had the large hamburger with fries and my parents had the baked chicken with veggies and bread. I enjoyed the burger, the meal was a decent size and as for my parents they also enjoyed what they had as well. I would say it was a good experience coming here.
Service was very good! I really wanted the food to be good. It was not at all what was expected of home cooked good food. The fried squash was decent. The field peas were warmed up from a can, the cabbage had been scorched and then water was added back to it and warmed up again ( the taste was that of a scorched pan). The cornbread, can't really describe the flavor, just not good. My husband had fried chicken that he said was decent enough to eat once but not again and he said the squash was excellent. He actually spit out the cornbread but loved the big biscuit that came on his plate. The gravy was watery and salty. Whoever cooked the squash needs to help out with the rest of the food. Once again the squash....it was excellent 👌.
The entire restaurant needs to be cleaned. From top to bottom. My husband loves this place, so I go. But there is grease on all the windows, dead flies on all of the window ledges, the doors to the bathrooms are so black around the door handles. Not sure why they haven't had more complaints about how dirty this place is.
The Food Basket is a town staple for me. I never walk into the building without a warm hello or good morning. So many menu items that are delicious. The eye opener, Irish omelette, blueberry pancakes.. you name it. And once I order that first cup of coffee? They keep it coming back to the table and I never see the bottom of my cup. I’d suggest this place to anyone staying in town or just to people who love a good breakfast.
Service was quick for a busy Sunday afternoon! Loved the atmosphere, felt like you were at a big family reunion with everyone eating in different rooms. I was disappointed in my food selection though. I got the turkey and dressing. The turkey was not from a turkey, it was canned or processed. The dressing was ok, but also didn't taste homemade and had a funny taste with the gravy. I loved the sweet potato fluff and the pinto beans. The corn bread and rolls were awful. I'll go back and try them again, but for a meat and 3 that's been around for 50 years, I expected home cooking, not a lot of canned, processed tasting food.
This is the place for breakfast in Albertville!! Great atmosphere, phenomenal service, and even better food. I had some eggs, sausage and some grits. Excellent meal and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast.
We originally went for breakfast. We were told it would be a 40min wait and lunch would be quicker, so we ordered lunch. We waited over an hour before our food come out, and it was COLD. after almost an hours wait for COLD FOOD is unacceptable. We should have ordered breakfast as we wanted. When we told the manager of which I made the touch the COLD cheese of my Philly, then she took it back as well as my husband's and said it would be out in just a few min. Then another waitress came to our table and apologized and explained that anything ordered off the grill takes about 40+ min!!! THATS WHAT WE WERE TOLD WHEN WE INQUIRED ABOUT BREAKAST!!! The first waitress should have informed us of that!! With all that being said, they handed us a check of full price!! We WON'T be back and will inform everyone we know how horrible this restaurant is!! It's really too bad, we went for breakfast a couple weeks ago and had a great experience, but after today we will NOT be back. If I could go with zero stars, that what I would have given.
One of the best breakfast we've had in a very long time. The staff was amazing the food was amazing will definitely be back.
Awesome addition to downtown Albertville! This is one of my favorite places to grab a drink when I return to my hometown. The pecan smoked old fashioned is absolutely incredible, my palette is watering thinking about it. I really appreciate the atten
I ate a burger here last week and it was phenomenal. I don't understand the complaints about a greasy burger because that's the best way a burger can be prepared! Who wants a dried up burger?! The coconut pudding was also great. I hope to return bef
Food was delicious and Tamara was an amazing worker very fast paced but also got her job done exactly how she should have with a very positive attitude!
This small, unassuming restaurant was a pleasant experience. The service was fast, the food was good. The tables and chairs are bright, colorful, and amazing. I look forward to going back. They do need to get the roof sign above the door working.
