So delicious! Went with a large group on a weeknight (11 of us) and they embraced us with open arms. Impressive the server took orders without writing things down and everything seemed right. Portions are huge so don't be put off by the price of things, definitely worth its value. I ordered a molcajete and it was so delicious. It came with a plate of rice and beans with nice portions of lettuce, pico, and guacamole as well as two tortillas. The flan was on point as well. I definitely recommend stopping here for a yummy experience. The customer service is wonderful as well and it's nicely done inside.
Indubitably it was such a cozy experience. Indeed it is an authentic Mexican "fonda". The food tastes authentic and super flavorful. Service is impeccable. Our sever, Luis, was very aware of our needs and friendly. In addition, the buffet is always full and spotless. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Came on a Sunday for lunch and the place is busy. Large menu with lots of items not found at other Mexican restaurants. The chips and salsa were excellent. The food came out hot and delicious with large portions. I would definitely recommend the Fajitas combination as the steak, chicken, and shrimp were yummy. Recommend coming early as they get really busy during lunch. They have a few patio tables out front with two dining rooms. Lots of parking on the street and in the parking lot near the restaurant.
It's really fast with service and the food portions are huge for the price. I got the salmon really good, but they don't give enough napkins to start with overall great would come back.
I was taken here for my birthday. First time trying it and It was a good. Definitely recommend this place and coming back again. Must try!
By chance we were in the area and recommended to try Fonda Don Chon. LOVED IT! So many great dishes to choose from. Menu, service and taste all deserve a 5 star. You won't be disappointed. 👍🏼

Update 10/8/23. This has to be one of that last great Mexican American large scale restaurants in all of the San Gabriel Valley. 2022: Their portion sizes are really good for the price. The food is TASTY.

Always a great place for delicious food! Been here many times, never had issue getting sat in a timely manner, mostly because we go on a Tuesday. Wish they had a Taco Tuesday, but even though they don't, still a great spot with lots of options
