Foghorn Harbor Inn - Featured Reviews (267)
My boyfriend and I decided to go on a little mini getaway and chose the Foghorn Inn based off of price and location. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and it was very nice. It had a little sitting chair/nook area, a beautifully done bathroom and it was a pretty spacious room. It’s pretty much 15-20 min away from the pier and that area which isn’t too bad of a drive. They’re located on a little marina which is perfect if you have little ones and just wanna relax on the sand and don’t have to worry about waves. If we were in the area again I would definitely stay here again. It is very intimate and cute and the staff is very friendly.
Decided to stay here to stay close to Marina Del Rey for various events. The room was dirty including the outside patio. The bathroom knob kept locking which is why there was toilet party in the door hinge to avoid trapping anyone in there. No one working there mentioned this. The hallways were dirty and all they had to offer for breakfast were packets of coffee and tea powder next to a water cooler with hot water which was hard to use. The front desk people were nice and my rate would have gone up for them but they then charged me to store my bag on my last day in LA. And even with all of this my room rate was $330 a night.
I was traveling for work in the LA region for 3.5 weeks and stayed at The Foghorn for 6 days and what a wonderful experience it was. Unbeatable deal for the view and room experience you receive. The beach front rooms were amazing and the staff was even more amazing. Romeo and the rest of the staff were so friendly and accommodating the entire time. They don’t charge extra for parking and there was even a spot for my RV throughout the duration of the stay. The farmers market was nice to walk to close by on Saturdays and downtown Venice along with the beach were less than a 10 minute walk. I cannot wait to stay at The Foghorn again next time I’m in the area. Thank you again!!! 😄
It’s all about location. Yes, the rooms are dated and could use some TLC. It was clean and didn’t smell. And I’m in LA, I didn’t sit in room. Staff is very friendly. Nice beach especially if you have younger kids. I will definitely go back on my next trip.
CAN NOT BEAT IT... The views from the room are amazing.. Waking up to the sunrise over the marina is spectacular. The location is perfect. 10 minute walk to Marina Del Rey Beach. Right outside your room there are Walking paths and bike paths around the marina.. Beach front, BBQ and picnic areas as well.... and beach volley ball courts. Plenty of restaurants that you can walk to within minutes. And PARKING INCLUDED. To me that's amazing considering every place in California seems to want to gouge you for parking just to stay with them.. I can't say enough great things about this gem.. There's so many great things about this property but first and foremost was the general manager Margaret.. She makes you feel welcome and happy to be there.. She is very quick to resolve any problems you might have and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.. Her staff is great. During my stay I met Melody and Romeo.. Both fantastic, helpful and very personable. Everyone else was very friendly and helpful as well just didn't happen to get everyone's name..
The establishment charged us $100 (two separate charges of $50), which I discovered when checking my credit card statement (no receipt was sent from the establishment). I called and the employee alleged it was for "damaged towels," and said the manager would confirm with photo evidence (which we did not receive). I called the next day and spoke to another employee who stated they found the towels in our room post-check out "hanging on lightbulbs," and they had taken the photo evidence, which the manager would send to us via email. This claim is absurd. My partner and I wholeheartedly respect the establishments we stay in, and ensured we left the room clean, and easy to be housekept - including ALL towels being placed in ONE pile on the bathroom floor to the right of the toilet. The employee also stated the manager does not take calls, and they would reach out via email, but refused to give us the email address. The next day, after receiving no communication from the manager, we called again, and spoke to yet another employee. They did give us the email address of the manager, but said they had to keep the managers name confidential. They, too, said the manager is the only one who could provide us with photo evidence of the allegedly "burnt" towels. ||We had reached out to the manager via email last week (and followed up) and have yet to hear back and receive this supposed photo evidence (which I believe does not exist and never did because we did not do this). ||We are now left with a sour taste, and feel as though we were scammed and unrightfully charged. The establishment is extremely outdated (especially the bathroom, which is rusty and lacked hot water), and we are forced to pay $100 for towels we KNOW we did not damage! Furthermore, 2 of the 3 employees we spoke to hung up on us; one called my partner "weird" for calling out misinformation they were giving us. This place is extremely unprofessional, and the mismanagement is not worth your time or money.
My wife and I arrived at the hotel Wednesday evening, we ask if we could switch rooms. The staff were very professional and respectful. They moved us to another room the next day with no problem. Great location very peaceful and calm environment with outstanding staff members. We left the following week, I realized when I returned home, my ring was missing. I contacted the hotel, they immediately checked the room we were staying in and notified me that it was located. They assisted me with having it sent back to my address. I want to thank everyone there, amazing staff.
Had a good stay at Foghorn Harbor Inn for my first two nights in Los Angeles. I didn't want to have to drive too far after an international flight, and it was an easy 10 minute drive from LAX. I didn' experience any of the problems mentioned in other reviews. Room key was available, and there was hot water. I agree that the rooms need updating. However, the room was clean and comfortable and offered a peaceful night's sleep. Tea, coffee and hot water are available in reception, and the microwave in the room allows making hot drinks too. The location and price are the best things about this hotel. You can explore the Venice canals and beach on foot, and we even walked all the way to Santa Monica and back. It's cheaper than other hotels near the beach and has plenty of free parking.
This is a very nice older hotel that is in a great location near Venice Beach. The beach is a 10 minute walk. The rooms overlooking the Marina Del Rey marina have a great view. This is one of the quietest spots in the city. Had brunch there several t
Couldn't ask for more. Staff was amazingly friendly, and when I left an important belonging behind, they were able to help me get it back efficiently and safely. We've all heard stories of hotels "losing" items. It would be so easy for them to say "n
Clean space, LOVELY staff. I wanted to put a word in for KATHLEEN (at the front desk) & Instructor Laura. Kathleen was extremely kind, caring, & helpful - she made it work so my partner & I would have a great first time experience. I hope management
You can purchase an all day parking pass (good for 24 hours) or hourly. Probably gets much busier during weekends (beach valley ball?, boating) but weekday visit presented a moment for a peaceful stop by the water. There are a couple spots to eat if

This serene peaceful place where our best memories are woven into is selling online my brother Teferi Assefa first album Origins from the Negarit Band.
This Italian style restaurant is popular and charming. Portions are pretty good sized and very tasty. I would come here often if i lived in the area and it seems like there are a bunch of regulars here. Our family shared the Caesar salad, linguine sh
Wonderful brunch with a view of Marina Del Rey harbor! Highly recommend the pork belly sando because the pretzel croissant bun was unique, fresh and delicious.
Great Bar! Great for Irish holidays to visit. A small minority of people are protesting against the turtle race, but it's awesome and they have no imagination! :). They just yell and shout the loudest but don't protest the real issues of the world. I

I think in every instance when wanting to eat and looking at reviews you have to weigh out why a person can leave a 5 here and leave a 5 at an actual elegant restaurant and they be held in the same regard. I was in need of a bite of food with no fril
