This experience was unforgettable!! I went with two of my best friends and our week was amazing! The trail rides were awesome. I had not ridden in such a long time(maybe as a child) but the wranglers( Jeff, Josh, Brandon and Rick) put me at ease and gave great instruction to make sure my ride was something I would always remember! Randy, Angie and Vicky fed us, oh so well, while we were there! My first time in Wickenburg, Arizona at the Flying E Ranch did not disappoint….after a week we left feeling more like family then guests! Accommodations were comfortable! I will be back! Do not miss an opportunity to visit this beautiful place!! |Patsy
I’m surprised at the number of high reviews but noticed that a lot of them are in reference to events and they didn’t actually stay there. While the food was delicious and the staff were friendly I was expecting much more for the price tag. I also find the website misleading. For example, my son was very excited to see on the website that they have a basketball court. A.) they don’t have basketballs or nets B.) the court is being used as an actual junkyard including a used couch. I asked if we could do archery or axe throwing and was told they didn’t have the staff. My kids were super disappointed and I was frustrated that we paid for amenities that just didn’t exist. The rooms are in desperate need of renovations; everything is extremely old. Unfortunately, this included the smoke detector and wall heating units. It’s one thing to skimp on bedding its another to skimp on safety. If you’re expecting a seedy motel then you’ll enjoy it otherwise save yourself the money and disappointment.
Great experience!! In Jan I took a trail ride with friends. I am a bit of a horse scaredy cat! From the moment I sat on Jethro I know it was going to be a great ride. The wranglers are so kind, patient and entertaining! Since the ride was so wonderful I decided to take lessons! I am currently taking lessons from Josh. Josh is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and thoughtful in his approach. I cannot recommend Flying E enough. The wranglers are great, the location is gorgeous, they have horses for every comfort level.
We stayed for 3 nights during the week and it was quiet but a lovely experience. Pretty simple ranch compared to some of the other places we stayed but the staff went out of their way to create a great experience for us, especially Randy. Great horses, beautiful setting, nicely maintained property. Nice rooms that they are working on upgrading. Their area has events almost every day so it was cool to watch barrel racing and team roping on the property.
This is a one of a kind time capsule trip. Knotty pine. Western decor. Charm. Midcentury flair. Comfortable. Excellent service. Engaged, thoughtful staff. Well located. Beautiful horses. Adorable goats. If you're drawn to or curious about this kind of travel experience, go for it. You'll be happy with your choice.
Three of us visited Flying E Ranch in March 2006, a year after a good friend who had moved out to Phoenix from Boston, MA went for the first time in 2005 after retiring from his job. Bob then invited my wife - Connie and I to share in the enjoyment of a cool dude ranch in Wickenburg, AZ. The rooms were of cowboy decor and quite spacious and comfortable close to the swimming pool. We rode horses on a trail ride and then the next day I went on a galloping ride which went through a sandy river bed. The meals were family style with everyone eating together at set breakfast, lunch and dinner times. Flying E Ranch even had its own small bar where you could bring your own drink or alcohol. It was great to meet people from all over the US and other places in the world. At the same time we were visiting, there was a small family from England, United Kingdom enjoying the cowboy, southwestern lifestyle. We all got branded, Connie & Bob on their jeans and I had my rattlesnake skin boots branded with the Flying E brand. Connie made up a collage of the mini vacation and it hangs in our guest room of which we call the Cowboy Room of which I have shared. I would highly recommend this for anyone who has ever wanted to live in the Wild, Wild West.
We can't gush enough about what a fantastic trip we had. My 24 year old son and I enjoyed every minute. Rick took us on a wonderful horse back adventure which far exceeded our expectations. Randy made the best meals and really took the time to understand what we liked. There was a roping contest that we enjoyed watching. The accommodations were great. Angie was helpful and directed us to Happy Trails where we rented a side by side for the day in the desert. The hot tub was perfect each evening. Josh let us borrow cowboy boots and hats. Will definitely recommend and return.
This coming April will be my 3rd year coming to the ranch. I come for the peace I find and the grief that seems to disappear once i get here. Also, the amazing food and the horses! It should be noted that everyone that works here, makes it their primary focus to see that a wonderful time is had by all. When I am here, all my stress disappears and I am able to relax. The setting is so beautiful, and who can't just spend time looking at the beautiful horses and feel happy! Every time I leave after a stay, I go home with a renewal of my spirit that I know will get me through the year. I believe that time at the Flying e is time very well enjoyed!
Service was by far the best I've ever experienced! I went for a team building outing and was very impressed. The rooms were cleaned very quickly, the food was great, the location and views were impeccable! Really feel like I was able to relax and un
My husband and I were looking for a place to take some interesting and fun photos and decided to make this a destination to stop. It was the perfect place to visit for photos! Some of the buildings were being renovated, so they gave us discounted adm
