Our trip to Fossil Creek was so nice. This parking was super close to the creek and a swimming area. There were restrooms, but no faucets.
Pretty long drive off road. Saw a few cars with flat tires on the side of the road. The nature is incredibly beautiful, but it gets pretty busy and theres not enough space to sit on the side of the water. Don’t try to go without a reservation.
Already posted my detailed review, so don't forget to go through it before visiting this place.
In addition to that, you may get only Verizon reception, so try to leave as early as possible if you just have one car. Carry more water and food for you all and have duplicate sets of car keys with different groups (one lady missed her group and she didn't water, food, for her and dog, so take all types of precautions).
Always beautiful and well worth the 14 mile washboard road in!
I'll be doing this again for sure. What a beautiful and peaceful place. It can get quite got in the dead of summer, but the water more than makes up for it.
Fair warning, get an all-terrain vehicle if you're going to come to this place. It took 2 hours to drive there from Tempe another hour and 20 minutes to drive up and down that Winding Road of a mountain, very bumpy off-road experience. Do not drive up that mountain with a Camry.
Once you are there expect to walk quite a ways to get to the creek. If you have small kids expect to be carrying them. That said my family never did make it all the way to the waterfall we stopped short off the pathway and just swim in the creek. It is kind of cool if you bring a snorkel gear to see the fish swimming in the water. The water is very cold so go there around July August or September. Again don't go up there unless you have like a Subaru or some other all-terrain vehicle.
It was a 3-star experience for me but I wouldn't do it again with a car there that I own. It's probably a much better experience if you have a car made for that trek. Also there's not a lot to do nearby unless you want to experience Flagstaff or Sedona in the summertime.
Love this place to go to and just sit by the creek and relax!
What a wonderful place. I love that there's not so many people out there
This was our first time in Pine, and weâre so glad we chose to stay at the Lodge at 5600. The view from our second floor balcony was amazing. Our room was large, beautiful, and clean. We loved the fireplace! The property itself has a mountain resor
