This is such a great place to become a member of and bring the kids for swimming, and all kinds of activities.

Swimming fun, my kids now grandson have enjoyed the variety of sport options. Fields can be muddy and a mess to play on, Mosquitoes can be a problem with the woods. Crazy parking. I do wish they had more options to purchasing a membership. Overall a safe clean environment with clean bathrooms.

Please update your out of town member check in procedures. My husband and I, he a member of the Y for 10+ years, dragged our tired selves in at 6am, waited a few mins in the lobby bc you obviously can’t scan yourself in when you’re an out of town member. Once we were assisted, staff member went to the binder to verify my ID and card had already been copied. I had just been there two days prior and the same man checked me in then and copied my ID and member card. My copy wasn’t filed under the right letter so he wanted me and my husband to redo everything again. We both travel for work visiting YMCAs across the country and none have a process such as this. The insult to injury is this same man saw me two days ago, checked me in, and misfiled my info. And then instead of waiving me in, as the error was not ours, he wanted me to redo the paperwork. Please update this process or encourage staff to afford some sort of courtesy to out of town members that follow your dated check in process. Not a happy start to our busy work day. I will be in Florence for months for my job but will not be returning to this Y.

I can't believe that I have lived here for almost 20 years and just found this gem! My kids, teenage daughter and I all love coming here! I love that I can work out and have a place to take my kids until I finish! That alone is priceless! The pools are amazing and although there's a lot of complaints about having to take a swim test and wear a swim band/necklace if you're under 12, I however think it's a great idea and in return helps the lifeguards do their best job keeping the children safe! The staff members are all absolutely amazing and friendly! I have visited other ymcas in our area and they don't even compare to Florence! This is a great place for families and we enjoy coming here immensely!

My child loves coming here after school. He really enjoys seeing all of his friends from and out side of school. Most of the staff are great and we have not had any problems, until...he was supposedly given a flyer to sign up for summer camp. A six year old was given 1 flyer to give to his parents 1 time. obviously it did not make it to us and we were not notified via email, phone, etc. So now this six year old who looked forward to going to the YMCA is no longer allowed because staff and upper management would not take an extra step. Both parents full time works and a child who is out of school for the summer...HOW AM I TO FIX THIS?

We have family membership. My kids love the swimming area, because it's like a mini 6 flags for them. Our oldest son enjoys the swimming classes, and my wife and I bounce from various exercise rooms to fit our workout needs for that day. The toddlers attend the care center while we workout, and although our youngest has a sassy air about her, they always manage to get her to lighten up and play with the other kids. Out oldest son's care person is usually a high school volunteer, but the guy he's had so far engages him with basketball, games of chess/ checkers/ etc, pushes him to open his mind to new challenges, and encourages him to display good sportsmanship. The Y is practically our getaway home and village!

The child care ladies are amazing. They’re very sweet and seem to genuinely care about the kiddos. They are the reason for the second star. Other than that.. this place is a mess!! The weight room is so so unorganized. The weights are literally everywhere. No rhyme to their reason… it’s super frustrating to move smoothly throughout a workout because of this. There is always someone at the weight “desk”. But it’s like they’re glued there! They don’t walk around to do a thing. I don’t understand why there’s always someone there?? The workers at the front desk don’t seem to really know what’s going on. I asked multiple people about pricing on swimming lessons for a toddler and I got different answers each time. Because of this, I didn’t sign him up.. it’s disappointing!! I was really looking forward to that. But I’m not going to search and search for an answer that (I feel like) should have been simple to answer…
