Flipping Byrds Smashville Chicken - Restaurant in South Gate - 4322 Tweedy Blvd, USA

Love to see places like this one established down Tweedy Blvd. it’s across the street from Milk + Cookies making the corner of Tweedy Blvd and Bowman Ave a hot spot. Flipping Byrds has quality tenders, great service and orders are made fresh. I can speak for their mango habanero -everyone’s pallet is different so you’ll have to try their sauces for yourself but for me, I do enjoy it very much. Also their slaw is really good. I’m very picky for slaw and when I tried their slaw, I knew I would be coming back. So I come back all the time! Their seasoned fries are really delicious and their flippin’ sauce is a really good sauce. I always order ranch as well and their ketchup dispensary is next to the fountain drink machine for your convenience. Love this place and I’ll continue to return for their mango habanero sliders. Very happy this place is around.

Great food! Great proportions! They can be shared or eaten by one. All of their chicken options have been a delight! Their chicken is very tender, with the right amount of crisp. The flavors are spot-on, the right amount of spices and all; even their "hot" had an amazing flavor and it also lived up to "hot", the flavor was so good that I was tempted to keep eating it but just burning up. I've had their Smashville fries, and their combo #2, but between all my family, we've also tried their other combo options, and all have given great reviews. The only food option I've had that just didn't satisfy my taste buds was their Mac and cheese. If you've ever had Mighty Birds(when it existed), this is even better!! I highly recommend it. Amazing food, amazing prices. What else could you ask for?

First time eating at Flipping Byrds Smashville Chicken. I ordered take out #3. Slider chicken tender and fries. Mango habanero and the smashville flavor combo. Food was great. Fries were great. Overall presentation was great. I entered the establishment and was met with blank eyes. Where is the “Hello welcome”. Welcoming atmosphere goes a long way.

Small restaurant. Parking could be limited. Overall, this hot chicken spice made me cry, but I enjoy the flavor of their buffalo butter, and house sauce. I’ll comeback and just get the mild with the buffalo butter. I am also going to get extra bread next time to help with the heat. Decent fries, they were crispy, but I can tell they were frozen. Friendly staff and it was not busy when I visited.

Honestly one of the best chicken sliders around town, the service was above and beyond! I made a bit of a mess and the female clerk that was on shift today at around noon helped me get it together 😅, the food was great the ambient was great, just a well rounded foody spot, definetly worth to check it out. Thanks again ya’ll! Almost forgot caution with the hot dry rub… that was fireeee 🔥🔥

Ambiance: Simple design, open kitchen ish concept, a little decor, and really good amount of seating. I liked how clean it felt inside. Service: First, let me shout out Eric (manager) & James (assistant manager), who were hilarious!!! They were so helpful and kind and genuinely fun to be around. Went above and beyond with the service, and we love them for it! Food: I loved everything thing I had, I preferred the Buffalo butter over the medium rub (I ate all of both, lol) fries were fresh and nicely seasoned. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the cheese sauce(which i got on the side), but the ranch swooped in for the win, lol.

Hot chicken review!!! South Gate now has a hot chicken place. ok, I came here twice now, and both times were just ok. The first time for the 2 sandwiches and fries combo, one sandwich was medium spice, and the second was mango habanero. Ok, the sandwiches were of decent size, and chicken was not dry but could not taste any exquisite flavors. Medium spice was not spicy at all. Mango habanero sandwich was not as expected either was not able to taste mango or habanero, not spicy at all. Everything was just pale all together. Coleslaw was plain, I would suggest better going with a vinegar slaw with a good amount of black pepper would definitely give it a kick. Flipping sauce on the sandwich was not distinguishable, just plataue with everything else. Bread was plain white, which does not help enhance anything on the sandwich. Fries were the most enjoyed, well seasoned, and nicely crisp they go well with the flipping sauce cause you can actually taste it with the fries solo. I appreciate the guy behind the counter he acknowledged me and even offered me one extra ranch and sauce. Now, the second time around, I decided to get a second opinion, so I came with my significant other, and we decided to try out the mild smashville fries. In our opinion, they were disappointing, breading on the chicken was super heavy, looked like a lot of chicken, but came to be that a lot of it was just fried breading, slaw was monotone flavor, and flipping sauce was plain, cheese was the most distinguished on the smashville fries but that's pretty much it. The place is clean, and service is good they even sell beer, but you should try at your own discretion, not something I would highly recommend for hot chicken...

THE BEST DAMN TENDERS EVER! FINALLY SOME AMAZING FOOD IN SOUTH GATE 🫶🏼 Starting off with the flavors, OMG nailed every single aspect my taste buds could have asked for. The crunchiness of the chicken tendy is just the Cherry on the top! The ambiance, super chill and inviting. I’ll definitely be coming back, over and over again! Def must try the micheladas as well, SO GOOD😩
