This place is absolutely awesome. Came here for my son to find a place to help him and ended up doing it with him and staying myself. It’s more like family then just another gym. Coach Jesse and Jina are both great and patient with my son who has bad ADD. They’re very knowledgeable and helpful and their kids are very helpful as well. Couldn’t be happier with a place for us both to go even the others in the gym are more than willing to help both me and my son out while we’re there. Become more of friends with the others and the coaches. Highly recommend this place!!
Even though I am new to ju jitsu, the coaching team is fantastic. Anyone who is looking to get into grappling, I would highly recommend checking out a class or two. They understand the art and have a passion for teaching it.
I absolutely LOVE training here. Everyone is very friendly. Very family friendly environment. Great place to make new friends. Coach Jesse explains different techniques in a way that is easy to understand. If I have questions or need help Jesse and the other coaches are always willing to help me. Very diverse team with different backgrounds and experience. Everyone is willing to help eachother and learn from eachother. I've recommended this place to my family and friends. I can't say enough positive things about this place.
Flashback is a great place filled with great people. Jesse and Jina are the coaches and have done an excellent job cultivating a culture that welcomes everyone from beginners to experts. They are passionate about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, the people they work with and helping people grow. I personally got into it just to check it out and try something new… I’ve been hooked ever since! There are so many benefits physically, mentally/emotionally and socially. I have seen personal growth in all these areas inside the gym and out. This is all thanks to the coaches and students that make this place great. My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner!

One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was joining Flashback for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu! I have been going for a little over a year and am learning a ton and lost 20lbs in the process. Jesse Rueger, owner and gym black belt also is a great coach. He has an incredible lineage, earning his black belt from Radrigo Vaghi, the highest ranked Rickson Gracie promoted black belt in America!
One of the best gyms in the Midwest! Very knowledgeable and dedicated instructors in a friendly and welcoming environment. If you’re looking for a new gym or thinking about trying jiu-jitsu, this is the place to go! You won’t find a better deal on jiu-jitsu anywhere.
