Fixins Soul Kitchen - American restaurant in Tulsa - 222 N Detroit Ave, USA

I would highly recommend coming to Fixins to all my friends and family. The atmosphere was great. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and welcoming. It is conveniently located downtown and there’s no way you can’t miss the sign and the restaurant. The food was seasoned to perfection. The only negative thing I could mention is that the macaroni and cheese needed some help and prayers so I wouldn’t suggest it. The potato salad has a bit too much mustard, but Everything else we tried on the menu was great. The oxtails was delicious! Seasoned to perfection. The atmosphere is great!!

First time eating here, and it certainly won't be the last! The seating and atmosphere are great, good place for a date night or to get the party started. The food quality is top notch, and the portions are huge. You get 2 meals out of one entree, and the price point is phenomenal all around. We got greeted immediately after walking in the door and got great recommendations from our server. They have a nice local beer variety and very nice bar seating. The menu has good variety but isn't overwhelming, I would like to try everything on it after having my first visit. I highly recommend!

#BlackOwned A new soul food spot in Tulsa, founded by former NBA play, Kevin Johnson. Fixins offers a plethora of traditional soul food options, such as: Greens, fried chicken and catfish, macaroni, biscuits, cornbread, sweet potatoes, etc. The atmosphere is perfect with great customer service to back it up. The space is large with plenty of room to move around. The establish was clean with great bathrooms. Additionally, they have a full bar and great music (the best R&B 🙌🏾). The service was wonderful. Everyone was so kind, pleasant, and helpful. They actually seemed like they enjoyed their job. I ordered: Fried chicken, green, macaroni, sweet potatoes, corn bread and a biscuit. It was all tasty. They’re a little heavy handed with salt, but the flavor was there. The sweet potatoes, corn bread and biscuit were my faves! Can’t wait to go back and try brunch!

A beautiful fall day, no construction on the Broken Arrow Expressway, got a parking spot at the front door of the restaurant, service was fast and friendly (Casey D.), and a generous plate full of delicious food served in a comfortable bright restaurant. Everything clicked. This restaurant is not for everyone. The food is heavy. No scrimping on the butter, bacon, batter, salt, oil and seasoning. The portions are liberal. I let my hunger guide my order. A two-piece fried chicken meal with two sides is enough. I ordered the three-piece meal with fries and the charred okra. The cook was generous and gave me 4 pieces, two wings and two breast pieces. I ate the two large wings. I left with enough food for another meal, for two people. Both meals came with a big buttery biscuit! The amount of food for the price is a bargain. My wife had the slightly more reasonable 2-piece meal with Mac and Cheese, and Black-Eyed Peas. Still irritated about meals we had at a local sushi house a couple of days ago, my wife said “Look at this plate of food Fixins serves for $14. Compare that to the miserable Poke Bowl that cost $18.” A point well made. I am saving the best for last. The dark crispy, crunchy fried chicken is nicely spiced as was the spicy, bacony charred okra (is bacony a word? it is now). It is heavy food that will fill you up quickly. Then there were the Black-eyed peas. My God they were good. The seasoning was unbelievably perfect. I don’t make it down town too often. If I ever come back my order will go like this. “Give me a two-piece fried chicken meal with fries and Black-Eyed Peas. Put the chicken and fries in a to-go box for tomorrow. Lord have mercy. The food is beyond what I can describe. The energy in the restaurant is bright and festive. Great drinks, more than that- creative drinks. Affordable prices for food that I will travel 8 hours to come back to again. The Mac n cheese is UNFORGETTABLE. The OxTails are NOT to be missed. You don’t even know how much you will regret not tasting that delectable goodness. Pork chops were crunchy, tender - and the gravy made peoples eyes roll back! The gravy has a smoked cumin flavor that is not comparable anywhere else. Tovah was an excellent server!

I looked this place up and was so happy i found it. We went to tour Greenwood (black wallstreet), and it was only 2 minutes away. Didn't have to wait long for a table for four, and our server, who was also the bartender, took great care of us. The food came out quickly and was so hot and fresh. Definitely a 10 out of 10 cant wait to go again. The prices are amazing.

Food was delicious! We got there a little early for brunch and got a great seat next to the window. My boyfriend and I ordered the fried chicken and fried catfish. Sides were great, we loved the fried deviled eggs too! The service was also great, staff was kind and chef came out to see how we were enjoying our meal. I will definitely be stopping again next time we’re in Tulsa!
