Fitger's Inn - Hotel in Duluth - 600 E Superior St, USA

I had posted a rave review about this hotel, but unfortunately i must change it. I am older and have some kind of short term confusion. I know I ordered tons of food, but because of my brain, when it arrived i had no desire to eat it. I stayed 11 nights and was assured that my food spills and messes were ok, Again, 11 nights, spent over $3000, joined STASH and was very happy. So happy that i booked a reservation for this weekend through TA i think. It was confirmed, Hours later i received a phone call from Fitgers. A female said "You are not welcome back here". Ok why? Refused to answer. I was so perplexed because it had happened to me before. NO ONE took the time to say "Sir, we are very appreciative of your previous review and compliments, but unfortunately, due to a simple policy of all hotels perhaps, when a room needs to be taken out of service due to damage you caused, we are not allowed to let you book again". This was food damage. I was mortified that i caused this. I found out because Daniel, the kind manager of Residence Inn told me about the uniform policy. I would have paid for any damages. But one phone call ruined my entire visit.

We stayed one night to celebrate our 20th anniversary together. Our stay was excellent - the staff at the front desk was always so friendly. They even left a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room to celebrate. The room was beautiful, but showing its age just a bit (light-switches were a little wonky, support bars near the whirlpool were not well attached to the wall, and the shower was in rough shape). We still had a great time though, and will consider staying again next time we're in town. This particular visit, Duluth was under dense fog the entire time, otherwise I believe we'd have had a perfect view of the sunrise off our balcony/deck. Something to look forward to next time!

Loved the play tonight at the Spirit of the North theater in the Boat House restaurant. The actors were really into their characters which made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend it if you get the chance to go see them perform.

We really enjoyed our stay for a special occasion stay at Fitger's Inn. It was so romantic and they provided champagne in our room where we overlooked beautiful Lake Superior. The room was wonderfully appointed and had so many pillow choices! It was so nice to go get morning coffee off the lobby and then walk downstairs for breakfast at the Boat Club and browsing through the many shops, all without bundling up for the cold weather.

We always love staying here. Whether you're stating lakeside or city side, you're getting a beautiful room and a part of Duluth history. The service , the shopping and overall experience is unmatched.I cannot recommend them enough.

Beautiful, updated hotel in historic building of Duluth with spectacular view of Lake Superior. Lovely well appointed rooms with huge bathrooms. Convenient location as it is attached to complex with many shops and several restaurants as well as the Lakewalk. We’ve been traveling to Duluth for over 10 years and continue to be impressed with Fitger’s!

This was our second time staying at Fitger’s during the holiday season, both were excellent. The hotel is beautiful and all the furnishings top notch. We were, weirdly, given a wheelchair accessible room - but that didn’t distract from the overall comfort.

Our room? We loved our lake view, beautiful sunrises! The room was clean, a bit more to details please! Cobwebs, dirt on the edges by the mirror on the door, comforter looked dingy….|Staff? Friendly.We had to wait to check out as a person from maintenance was on the front desk…don’t know where the check out people came running from…maybe a bad morning!|After this review, I must say we enjoyed our time at your beautiful Inn immensely!! We will return!!|Have a beautiful day!
