Fitch Lodge - Key West Historic Inns Collection - Hotel in Key West - 1030 Eaton St, USA

I was worried, I booked a non refundable stay, based on reviews on another site, then read some of the TripAdviser slams of this hotel. Maybe there are some bad rooms, but ours was great. No intollerable road noise, no mold, nice neighbors, very clean & very comfortable! I would rate it a 4 for sure, gave it 5 to offset some of the other reviews. ||Check in was easy. The only negative were that we had to use stairs, and there was not a microwave or coffee maker in the rooms, something I like. There was a nice fridge. Everything worked great, from AC to hot water. Staff was nice, I also could see into other vacant rooms and they were nice looking too. I would return no problem

The room we rented was not as advertised. The description said it was a King Studio Suite; however it was actually a Queen. The room itself had a lot of potential and character. When we asked at the front desk about the queen bed their response was that the bed was a king and we did not know what we were talking about. My husband told them that we have a king bed at home and we know it is not a king and they got very rude and told him that yes it was a king. The front desk staff brought out what we assumed was the manager and she got very rude and insulting and insisted that we did not know what we were talking about. My husband is 68" tall and when he would lay sideways across the bed his legs would hang off, a king be is 76" wide so... Plus after sleeping in a king for many years we know how big one should be. We did notice that they were using king flat sheets on the bed for both the bottom and top sheet and the top sheet and blanket hung almost to the floor, so I guess if you put king sheets on a queen bed that makes it a king bed. The room needed some maintenance, there were cracks in the ceiling, the TV was hung at an angle, the shower handle was about to fall off, the sink was hard to use since the faucet was so close to the bowl, the automatic shades on the skylight windows did not work, the stairs up to the unit looked like they had been seriously abused and the lock on the door at the bottom of the stairs did not work well and often too multiple attempts to access. There are no coffee makers in the rooms, you have to go outside and to the office to make yourself coffee in the morning. The included breakfast was $9 vouchers to a bakery a block and a half away - although the bakery food was excellent! The staff was very rude to us whenever we came into the office after we asked about the bed. When we checked out they would not look at us and only spoke when absolutely necessary.

The main issue was the shower didn’t drain properly and has ton of dark mold around. Very disgusting! One louver was missing! For $800 per night everything should be working perfectly! The place faces a very busy street. Not a chance to get a good night sleep. They said the breakfast is included but instead they gave us a $10 voucher for the nearest bakery . The cheapest sandwich is already more than $10. Overall this hotel is not so charming but disappointing for the price! Won’t come back.

Walking distance for all of old town, pet friendly. They don't have breakfast, but they offer coupons for a free breakfast at the local bakery, which is fantastic. Parking is a bit of a hassle, but there is a parking garage within walking distance

I suppose there are some people who would call this property charming or quaint, but I found it to be inconvenient. The building looks like someone’s house and the signage blends in with the background. Just know that if you’re at the corner of Eaton and Frances, you’re there.||No luggage carts and I had to go up stairs, down stairs, and up two more sets of stairs to get to my room. Inconvenient.||The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice, but the room was tight. No place to put anything. I was there for 5 nights and had to live out of my suitcase. No blackout curtains, just wooden blinds that don’t shut properly. Inconvenient.||Breakfast is not on site. You will be given a voucher for a bakery a block down the street. The coffee and pastries are good, but the voucher may not cover the entire cost and you may have to pay an additional amount. Inconvenient. At least the weather was nice and I didn’t have to walk in the rain.||There are a few free parking spaces on Frances across the street from the lobby and a stop for the free shuttle a block away. kwtransit.com, Duval Loop. Duval Street is about a 12-15 minute walk and the area felt safe to walk it. I'm surprised that this property is under the Kimpton brand; you expect a certain level of quality and I don't feel that my expectations were met.|

I stayed at this property Oct 2023. Having been to key west many times I was looking for a nice place to stay writhin walking distance to Duvall. I booked this property directly through IHG as I am a platinum elite member. Typically that affords me several benefits - early checkin, comp. room upgrade, late check out. I arrived an hr before check in and there was apparently no rooms available. ||The room I did get was across the street and on the lowest floor. The room was run down inside and out. The building and interior could use a whole overhaul with paint. There was only 1 window in my room and it had electronic blinds that were not working. So the room was like a dark dungeon with zero natural light. ||The pool was on the lobby side of the street and It was very small and not like pictured on their website. We didn't use it. ||When I checked in I asked the lobby if they would honor my late checkout benefit (I was staying 2 nights). They informed me I had to ask day of. So day of I asked by text the response was they could only "approve" 12pm noon. I informed them of my status with IHG and the late checkout benefit. Their response was "thank you for being a IHG member we can only honor till 1pm." I recieved that text at 1:02 pm so it did nothing for me as i already left the room.|| And while it doesn't matter that was the only time anyone at that property even acknowledged I held status with IHG. They probably are just used to people booking with Expedia and not travelers who tend to stay loyal to a brand to earn extra perks.||The best part here was the breakfast that you get coupons for at the bakery a block over. Other than that I'll stay at a different IHG next visit to KW. |

We spent this past Tuesday night. Karla at the desk was courteous and helpful. We were greeted with two local beers. We were also given two $9 vouchers for Old Town Bakery which was a couple of blocks away. We took the short walk and it was worth it. My husband had a breakfast burrito and I had yogurt parfait with their house coffee (Cuban roast) with a to go order of delicious key lime pie. Parking was street parking and there was no place to park for check-in so we had to drive around the block a few times. It’s an old traditional Key West Inn but the rooms are charming and small but fine for a couple. We were within walking distance to Mallory Square and Duval Street. Our room was by the street but it was quiet at night.

This is a great hotel in old town. Far enough away from Duval to be quieter and away from the night life but plenty close enough for a short walk down to Duval. It's well placed near the key west express, the conch Republic, bos, Pepe's, the dive bar, schooners wharf, Old Town Bakery and some other fantastic hang outs and eateries. The room we had this time (we've stayed at this hotel a couple times over the years for our new years trips to Key West) was on the front desk side of the hotel (hotel is split across the Eaton) the room was great, nice vaulted ceilings, bright and well appointed. The hotel staff was accommodating and we were given breakfast vouchers for the Old Town Bakery which ended up being fantastic. I stay at numerous hotels for work and enjoy the Diamond Elite status and this hotel is one I highly recommend!
