First City Fitness - Gym in Monterey - 2700 Garden Rd, USA

I joined First City Crossfit in September 2023 and could not be happier with the overall experience. I've been to many crossfit gyms around the country and this has been, by far, the best. Frank and the coaches are outstanding! They have such a desire to help everyone grow and meet their personal goals, and the coaching has truly improved my techniques that I had not been coached on at other boxes. The atmosphere is awesome, the people are fantastic, and the gym/equipment superb. I can't recommend this place enough. As long as I live in Monterey, I'll be at First City Crossfit, no question. Come and see for yourself!

I have been to many different Crossfit gyms over the past 10 years and First City has been by far the best for many reasons. The owner is incredible and such a wonderful coach. All of the coaches have been the best coaches I have ever had. They have wonderful cueing and teaching strategies. It really makes a difference, especially to new people (my boyfriend was brand new to Crossfit and they helped him learn a lot of proper technique), along with Crossfit veterans like myself. The facility was great and the members all had such friendly welcoming energy. Not to mention, these are the most fit athletes I have EVER worked out with collectively in a CF gym. Which is super inspiring and motivating. They are doing a great job with First City and it definitely shows. I hope to be back in the area to workout there again!

Dropped in for the week this New Years. We had an excellent experience. The community was welcoming - the workouts were fun and they gladly welcomed our Corgi, Pablo. Can't wait to come back.

I don’t know a lot of things but I know for sure that if you’re new to the area or CrossFit, you should start here. Frank and his team of coaches have cultivated the best environment for learning, growing, and team building- so thankful for long time friends that I’ve made here. Parking and gym space is abundant, so open gym while class is going is never a problem. You’ll almost always have access to the equipment/gear you need. Frank is always accessible, coaches are attentive. They are interested in your current skill level and your goals- Love this place.

Such a great welcome in this Crossfit Gym ! We came for a drop in at the last minute. First, it's the only Crossfit gym opened during the whole day. Then there is a great equipment with a dedicated area for the Open Gym. And above all, coaches are really friendly and make their best to offer to their customer great trainings sessions. They are also really helpful for tourist like us. I recommand 100% !!

I’ve been fortunate to be a member of several gyms and also coached at a few of them— this is by far my favorite!! The program is great, coaching is on point, and the community is hands-down, the best you’ll find in the area. Frank has created a really cool community at FCC. The coaches are warm and welcoming, and the vibe of the gym is definitely about being supportive of each person no matter their initial fitness level, and continually pushing them from there. I've made a lot of progress thanks to the encouraging environment, so hats off to Frank and the team for fostering that. The membership price is reasonable and the student discount generous, making it more affordable for a full-time student like me. Anyway, sign up, join the family. FCC is easily one of the best parts of my day.
