Stopped in for a lunch meeting. Service was attentive and good. The atmosphere is very cozy, rustic and comfortable. Food was decent as well. Plenty of parking, easily located off Rt.6, just west of Tunkhannock.

The Fireplace is a typically quiet place to eat. Everything I've had over the years has been good, and more important, consistently good. I don't think I've had an off meal in the years of going there. Highly recommend the shrimp bisque and getting a loaf of pumpkin bread to go.

Long wait time. An hour and 15 min for main meal. Ordered Delmonico steak medium but got almost well done. Apetizers arrived after the salad and soups. But friendly and food overall good. Deserts were very good.

We are working in the area and decided on having dinner because of the great reviews. I think the folks in Tunkhannock need to get out more if they think this is good food. To start, service was VERY SLOW despite it not being exceedingly busy. When we received our menus, my eyes about popped out of my head. The LARGEST, most diverse menu I have ever seen at any restaurant. This is NOT a good thing!! The quality of food is seriously compromised with such an extensive menu. More on that later... The wine (local red, sweet) was delicious. The salads (which came served in a clear plastic clam shell design--hello 1970's) came and were not cold as they are supposed to be served. Dressing was not on the side and the salads were oversaturated with dressing. We both ordered steak...my boyfriend ordered sirloin, medium. He had wanted Alaskan King crab legs but they were out. Now I am thankful for that (you'll see why at the end of this review). I ordered prime rib. Mine was decent. Not the best but edible. His was too done but he didn’t say anything and ate what he could. We took the rest back to the hotel with us and gave some to our little dog. The twice-baked potatoes were dry and cold. I sent mine back and requested fries instead. They tasted like old fry grease and I couldn't eat those. We spent approximately $90 plus a tip. The next morning my bf called and told me he had been sick all morning with severe diarrhea. And I had told him our dog had been sick as well as I had just got done cleaning up 4 spots on the floor. The steak was bad :(. So that was our experience. We read the story online about the owner and how he started there as a teenager washing dishes...we do wish them well and much success but I would suggest cutting the menu selections in half so the quality of food isn't compromised. The menu options need a good update as well. Please take this review as constructive criticism. We found the building itself to be very quaint and the ambience was good. This review is not only customer-based, but my boyfriend is a previous owner of a booming restaurant along the Colorado River. That place wasn't closed for lack of success, it went to the ex in the divorce. Good luck and wishing you much success.

I have never had worse service in my life. The waitress ignored us the entire time. Our drinks were empty for a half an hour. Our food took forever to come out. Other than the shrimp bisque which was amazing the rest was a let down. The crab stuffing for my shrink tasted like rubbery thanksgiving stuffing. The steak my husband ordered was cooked perfect, but supremely bland. The fries were ok. My husband ordered a steak sandwich to go. They asked what side he wanted with it, but didn't tell him he was getting charged for it. The place had a rustic beauty. They didn't offer us outdoor seating, but others got it and I would have like it. Not enough to make me ever come back.

I love Miranda! <3 The FIREPLACE RESTAURANT is my favorite place to go! The girls are wonderful. I have allergies and they check on ingredients like it is normal. I am so grateful. Thank you! Thank you for all you do for our Family!

Went there for our 30 yr anniversary. Waitress was phenomenal. French onion soup wonderful!!! Food unfortunately was not as good as I hoped. Portions were RIDICULOUSLY small. Lobster was rubbery. Caramel apple dessert had no caramel. 125.00 + 30.00 tip later…… would go here for a burger etc. but def not a special occasion

OK I almost didn't go because of the negative reviews. I went and had a great time. Food was great and the service was great and the price was great. I'll definitely come back whenever I'm in town.

Surprisingly high quality diner food. Coffee was gourmet, not bulk coffee tasting. Omelette was very well executed and extremely affordable given the huge amount of 🥑 . Pancakes were good

One of the most friendly/loving staff I've ever encountered in the motel industry. Jordan is a great manager. Getting out of the motel at peak traffic hours can be challenging but that's what brakes are for.
