My husband and I absolutely loved our stay. Our cottage (Kiwi) was super cute. It was perfect for our quick little Anniversary weekend getaway. The room was very clean and comfortable. Firefly Resort is just the cutest place. It is very quiet and peaceful. It was so nice getting to meet Mate' once we arrived. He came to the Cottage and explained everything. Glad we got to see him on the way out too! We are already trying to plan on when we are going back. We will see you again soon hopefully!

We wanted to experience Cedar Key on our way to Sarasota. Based on reviews, we selected Firefly and were so glad we did. Mate’ and Ian are great hosts. We were in Paradise cottage which was cute and comfortable. It is clear that the guys consider everything to support their guests’ comfort including the freshly ground coffee left at our door each evening. Cedar key is fun and laid back. Great dining options and interesting people. When we talked with locals they always asked where we were staying and when we told them Firefly, they always told us how much whey liked the place. We will return.

2nd stay here and first under the new owners. Listen, don't come here if you can't appreciate peace and quiet and tranquility. These gentlemen are tremendous hosts, and their coffee game is 2nd to none... They are from Seattle, after all! The cottages are small and quaint. Perfect for 2 people to have a romantic getaway. A true hidden Gem in Cedar Key!

This is a great place to just chill and relax. The guys were so great and they also informed me about the opportunity to go to the lighthouse, which was great. The best part was the welcoming host Indy she was great and each morning had a hello for me. The cottage was amazing.

Great little spot with most excellent hosts! Super friendly, engaging, and extremely helpful on all the great local spots. Highly enjoyed our talks throughout our visit The rooms are delightful & quiant and super clean. The cottage decore was colorful and festive, with every spot & detail having something unique and interesting. The entire grounds set the mood. We came for the stars and wound up finding a gem. We will definitely be back in the cooler months so we can truly enjoy the grounds and island. Thank you for a great weekend.

Dear Ian and Maté, My mom and I had an absolutely magical time at your resort. We can not stop talking about it. Since I have been home I have raved about y'all and your slice of heaven to my whole family. We are eager to all plan a trip back over to you. The town was a place I can't even put into words. Inspiring, dreamy, relaxing, a place to let all the worries and hustle of everyday life go. But, with your hospitality and the fabulous place y'all have created there, that is a huge part of what made the experience so special. This is a lovely place to stay for a quiet relaxing getaway! The cottages have been restored with love and care. They’re clean and roomy, stocked with everything you need. The host Ian and Mate are delightful! They are both friendly and accommodating. My husband and I enjoyed the little details such as bottled mineral water and fresh ground coffee delivered daily. The garden sitting area is a very nice touch with surround sound music quietly playing. I spent several uninterrupted hours practicing yoga and left relaxed and refreshed. My husband and I enjoyed sitting by the water’s edge watching the little sand crabs do their matting dance while the osprey and cranes tried to eat them. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, relax and enjoy some unspoiled nature, this is your place. Thank you Ian and Mate for sharing your little piece of Cedar Key heaven!

Firefly Cottages are the coziest, cleanest, most magical place!! The hosts Ian and Maté are the friendliest, most accommodating, hospitable hosts ever!! What they have done with these cottages is nothing short of amazing. Each cottage is decorated differently... so cozy, bright, and so very relaxing, with everything you could possibly need. I highly recommend Firefly Cottages when you want to totally relax in the comfort of your own little piece of paradise. Oh, and the pillows are the softest... the best!!
