Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop - Bakery and Cake Shop in Anchorage - 2530 E 16th Ave, USA

One of my favorite spots. It feels like a local secret, it’s tucked away in the Airport Heights neighborhood with a little garden in the back to relax in while drinking your coffee, eating your nibbles. There’s even a kids little library!

Fantastic bakery with savory foods as well! Their chocolate cake and blackberry & coconut cupcake were delicious. Definitely returning here again.

Very nice find, had a few items and all very good although the Über Blueberry Bran Muffin was the cream of the crop. Would highly recommend!

Great atmosphere for brunch and coffee with old friends! Food was better than great, coffee was hot, and friendly smiling faces behind the counter. Will definitely be paying this hidden gem another visit in the near future! (Most of my party had the sausage breakfast sandwich and all loved it!! Also had the brown butter brownie and the chocolate chocolate cupcake but they were gone before I could snap a photo!)

Fantastic, friendly service! Warm, inviting atmosphere, though small. Each bite was on point! The salted carmel tart was a symphony of flavors!! The crunchy pecan crust balanced well with the gooey house-made carmel and decadent chocolate. I appreciated the touch of fancy Maldon pyramid-shaped salt flakes on top. Biting into the crisp yet fluffy croissant was as satisfying to my ears as it was my taste buds. The teas were good, and I appreciated the raw unfiltered honey available to stir in- as well as the assortment of Alaskan-inspired kids books available to look at while dining in. It's apparent that great care goes into the details of food here.

Hands down the best scones I've ever had. Rustic, dense and chewy but still crumbly with a perfect crust exterior, letting the sweetness from the fruit come through the more savory pastry. Legitimately making me salivate just thinking about them.

GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS are delicious!! What a gem this place is, the owner came in with a smile and a Hello to all the locals, and came over to me an out of town visitor to see if needed anything. The staff all so friendly, something I found rare in the state actually. Had a cheerful conversation and sent me off with a little extra kindness and a little gift. 💗 Thank You Rachel for a perfect end to my Alaska Vacation

Hands down the best place for brunch/lunch during our short visit to Anchorage. The smoked salmon soup was phenomenal, so were the sandwiches we tried. This bakery is very similar to our go-to place Bloom Bake Shop (Madison, WI) in the mainland with the same philosophy of using locally produced ingredients. Food and drink options in Alaska were somewhat disappointing in general, but this Bakeshop is definitely an exception. A must try!
