Finger Lakes Boating Museum - Museum in Hammondsport - 8231 Pleasant Valley Rd, USA

You can for sure learn something by coming into this museum. I spent about an hour here and left having a better understanding of shipbuilding in the area. As others have pointed out, watching the video is highly helpful and informative. There are a few things about this museum that struck me as odd, such as the winery areas in the basement. Overall, I think it’s worth checking out. Also, the man working here is very nice.

Really enjoyed this museum. Beautiful boats that were crafted in the Finger Lakes Region. You can even take a ride on a ferry boat that I saw them rebuilding and converting to EV a few years ago. The Pat II ferry boat ride on Keuka Lake is highly recommended.

This museum was a lot better than I expected! Tons more to see than I originally thought. The old wooden boats were great to learn about. Seeing the old wine cellar was fascinating. They had two kids room with fun activities to occupy the kids. The staff were really friendly snd very helpful. I highly recommend this place to visit when in the Finger Lakes area.

Very nice piece of history. Loved that they kept the original history of the building. Fascinating to see all the different boats.

Enjoyed touring this beautiful museum in its idyllic setting when I attended a swap meet here. I hope to return for more and other themed events in the future

Well worth the visit. Found out about this museum from the innkeeper at our B&B (Pleasant Valley Inn) and it was much better than we expected. Does a good job of presenting the history of boat-building in the Finger Lakes Region and has examples of many of the boats. The volunteers working there were very nice and knowledgeable.

We had a fantastic field trip here! Hands on learning and engaging activities. Each time we visit there is more and more to see. Beautiful drive and great for a family visit!

Went there with a friend for a class on outboard motors. Class was not what we expected, but nonetheless it was fantastic and we learned what we hoped for. We also toured the museum and found it to be fantastic. It is a remodel of Taylor wines headquarters and done very well. Several pieces on display and stories to go with them. Three floors of displays plus you can go in the shop were they are rebuilding boats of the area. A beautiful treasure of history. Hammondsport seems like a cool little town to visit too (probably better in warmer months) They have tours on the water and plenty of places to eat.
