Beautiful hand dyed yarns available! The rich colors in small dye lots will give you the immediate desire to knit or crochet something, anything!!! The yarns are of high end fibers such as silk, merino wool, cashmere, alpaca, and cotton. Bulky scarf to lace and sock thickness yarns available. I just purchased a beautiful canary yellow sock weight yarn that has copper spun into it for the anti-microbial and arthritis relief features that copper is said to have. The knowledgeable and pleasant staff will help orient and guide you to the shop and what they have available. Emily makes the beginner to expert yarn seeker feel welcome and will kindly answer any questions you may have. The shop also offers a small but excellent selection of tools and designs. There is a central table in this beautiful little shop where knitters and crocheters sit, create, visit, ask questions of each other and enjoy each others company. You will fall in love with what this shop has to offer. It is worth looking for in the historical part of downtown Anacortes.

F.A.Y specializes in hand spun yarns in fibers like baby camel, kid mohair, silk, merino, cashmere, alpaca, and sea cell. It is a very special operation; they exclusively sell their own yarn, the owner designs and dyes the colorways. The staff is very knowledgeable and approachable; they themselves design and write patterns for many of the pieces on display in the shop, and they offer plenty of support and guidance to their customers, including a classroom in the back, and a casual knitting table in the store. They have gorgeous handmade knitting accessories like locally made wooden knitting bowls, and they have a carefully curated selection of garments available for purchase as well.

Very nice yarn store and impressed with the type and variety of custom dyed skeins. I have had a problem with each of the skeins knotting and thus needing hand winding when on my swift so was not impressed with the winding afterwards. That said they will make beautiful knitted goods!

Fantastic shop near the water. Everything is dyed in house. She has some superb bases as well as colors. A great find. Since she does everything herself, the prices are extremely fair.

It's a special treat to enter this shop and find such a vibrant collection of colors and so many choices of hand dyed yarns as well as many knitted examples. It's a gem not found in many places and it is bound to make some non-knitters into knitters.
