Extremely Pissed Off!!! Made a reservation on December 25th 2023 and received a confirmation email booking our trip for the weekend of March 15-17 2024. Traveled approximately one hundred miles to check in and found out that Fern Valley Inn is under construction and Closed for business. Found that they had also left several other guests in the same circumstance and scrambling to find another place to stay in the snowing weather. I have stayed at Fern Valley in the past and had always found it to be a nice place to stay. At this point I will not ever attempt to stay there again and truly would not recommend them to anyone looking to vacation in Idyllwild California. I will finish this review by saying that if my credit card gets charged I will be going ballistic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We stayed here on our first trip to Idyllwild. This place has such beautiful cabins. Cabin we booked was tiny, comfy and beautiful. All the appliances were working, sheets/utensils were clean. A lot of attention has been given to details of furniture, walls, decor etc..
This was the 4th time we stayed here and by far the best experience so far. We stayed at the Willow Haus, Cabin #6 with another couple. This cabin has a bedroom, living room with fireplace, dining area, and fully stocked kitchen. They even have a corkscrew for wine. There is a nice back porch with a table and umbrella, and even a mud room off of the kitchen. The grounds are very nice and peaceful and there are even chickens which lay eggs that the owners offered us. This was a very cozy cabin with a nice fireplace, they give you a starter log, but bring your own firewood. The only thing to remember when you stay in the mountains is that the water pressure is not as high as down below, but it was certainly not a problem. We were fortunate enough to have snow while we were there which made it all the more beautiful. I have to say that the owners, Gary and Marcy Erb are two of the nicest people I have ever met and are well suited in the hospitality business. There are smaller cabins at a reasonable price and they are all very nice. We can't wait to take trip number 5 up there and stay again.
Fern Valley Inn is a lovely property. I stayed in The Hideaway, which was adorable, immaculate and very comfortable. The hot tub was so nice and the view of the trees and blue skies scrumptious. The room is well outfitted with coffee and accouterments, as well as glasses, dishes and silverware. I loved the thoughtfulness that included a mini flashlight on the key fob.||||Marcie and Gary are terrific hosts. I was warmly greeted and immediately felt at home.||||The property is so much fun and there are tons of nooks and crannies to explore. The chickens were particularly fun and show you were the term "pecking order" came from. Fancy, stand up for yourself!||||I liked everything about the stay and look forward to visiting again.
Fern Valley Inn is my favorite place to stay. It's absolutely charming. From the adorable cabins to the lovely meandering grounds, it is quiet and relaxing. The owners, Marci and Gary, are always accommodating. The prices are so reasonable. The outdoor area has walkways, places to relax, a ping pong table, even a grill (although I've never used it.) All of the cabins have either a porch or a sitting area outside the room. ||||||I've stayed in Cabin #6 Willow Haus several times. The full kitchen is great, completely equipped. I also like how there's both a front door and a back door onto the second patio. ||||Cabin #10 Casa Romantica is lovely as well. It's an A-Frame Loft cabin with a spiral staircase and full kitchen. ||||I've also stayed in the smaller rooms - #3 Nature's Cottage, and it was perfect. The last time I was there I stayed in Cabin #8 Havana Bungalow and it was a larger room with a nice sitting area. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. ||||Whether you're coming in the winter or summer, this is the place to stay.
Cozy cabin-style room and very comfortable. Wood burning stove adds a nice touch to the ambiance. Wifi works well and the staff is super friendly. Very convenient location if you plan to hike up through Humber Park. Looking forward to our next visit to Idyllwild and San Jacinto mountain!!
Stayed at the Fern Valley Inn after some issues with my first hotel. Owners Marcie and Gary were helpful and friendly. I enjoyed very much my stay, peaceful setting, comfortable cabins. Nice bed, linens and towels. Bathroom is small and shower has good water pressure. Less than 10 minutes drive from main hiking trails. I would definitely come back!
Hello! Well had a wonderful weekend in Idyllwild! Found a gem at Fern Valley Inn! Cute whimsical setting in mountains just above town. I was looking for just the place to stay. Without paying high tourist prices for accommodations. I loved the gardens and attention to details was impressive. The couple that owned the Inn were just great.I highly recommend this place and will be returning soon.

If you've been level 1 hiking on flat terrain and are ready to level up to a little elevation, this is the perfect trail. I've been on this "DOG" friendly trail a number of times and it's perfect for families. There's little creeks crossing the tra
Mount San Jacinto is a beautiful hike and magnificently wonderful landscape. The Round Valley hiking loop from the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway made a great afternoon out-and-back excursion with breathtaking views throughout!
Great breakfast burrito, I was expecting to pay a lot more for the food. When I got my total, I was surprised at how affordable the food is. There was a wait for the lunch menu, since so many locals buy food from here. Nice and quiet atmosphere. G
I am a former DSS/TEPPS student and I attended our 40th reunion. The Historical Society was a pleasure. They put together some photos from the school over the years and we got to go browse
Me and my wife stayed in the Quail cabin and we're blown away with how nice the place was. Massive comfortable bed, spacious Jacuzzi tub and a gas fireplace made the vacation wonderful. The kitchen came stocked with plates, cups, utensils, pots, pans
Great little Mexican restaurant just outside of town on the way to the mountains. Food was good. Salsa was great. Service was excellent. Iâll be back next time, hopefully soon!
The food is great in this tiny restaurant. The preparations are excellent, and the flavors are fresh and enticing, a step up from most restaurants of this type. The chips are freshly prepared, the salsas are good, and the self-serve salsa bar makes i
