I have frequently ordered takeout from this place, but this was my first time dining in. I was really looking forward to it since I adore the food, but it turned out to be a bit disappointing as the service was below average. Our server, Woody, was inattentive and appeared rushed or disinterested, from taking the order to serving and checking us out. This greatly let down our overall experience.
The ambiance of this restaurant is a blend of sophistication and warmth - I wish the service had been better.
Regarding the food, everything was delicious and authentic as usual, except the Thai iced tea, which was too sweet for our liking.
My favorites from here are:
1. Panang Chicken Curry - Tender chicken in a rich aromatic curry sauce
2. Pineapple fried rice - Highly recommend: The dish achieves a perfect balance, with each bite offering a harmonious blend of sweetness and savory notes.
3. Crispy garlic chicken - Despite being less garlicky, the chicken was crispy and delicious
Fern Thai is one of my favorite restaurants in Downtown Bellevue! The food is very good, and I highly recommend the duck curry and spring rolls!! Plus the prices are fair with the portions being very filling. The service is great as well! I would just say it can get busy, especially during dinner!! Fern Thai is definitely worth the trip!
The food was really tasty, I loved that the pad Thai was served with banana flowers—that is so rare these days! The crispy garlic chicken was flavorful and tender and the spicy lychee margaritas were delish! The service was fast and generally friendly. They definitely made it clear when they wanted us to leave which was a bit rude but there was a long line. I’d still come back for the tasty eats!
This was the 2nd time coming to this Thai restaurant. The food was all delicious. We were seated inside where they had a clear roof so it felt quite open. For spicy we chose 4 and it was pretty reasonably spicy for our Asian tastes. The food came out super quick as well.
Very good Thai food. Pretty close to authentic but a little pricey, which is to be expected as the restaurant is in Old Bellevue (downtown Bellevue). They also have beer, cocktails, and wine ($14 for a glass of Cab). They don’t offer any parking so you’ll have to find a spot on the streets (which is difficult during peak dining times). You can dine indoors or outdoors. The pad thai portion is generous. A little smaller for the pad see ewe but still very tasty. I recommend getting the crispy garlic chicken (although it wish it were just a little more crispy) and the pork skewers. Great place for a casual lunch, business meeting, family meal, couples night out, etc. Our favorite Thai restaurant in the Seattle area.
I have been wanting to try this place and finally did it was okay. We had like 4 or 5 different people wait on us..service was okay. We had 5 adults and a 6 month old infant and they charged us 18% gratuity. Food has interesting flavors and didn't taste like your typical Thai food. Pineapple fried rice had Indian flavors in it. Pad Kee Mao drunken noodles had corn in it and had a strong rosemary flavor.
The only thai food restaurant that I found in this area that I like to call 'Little Italy' even though not all of the restaurants serve italian food there. We waited a bit for our seat but was able to sit outside as the weather was gorgeous! We had Kua Kling and Panang Neau Yang. The waiter recommended to eat with rice because we had it with 5 stars spicy level and he was not wrong! Glad we had it with rice because it was spicy and yet still tasty and delicious! Couldn't stop eating the panang curry sauce, it was outstanding by itself. Pricing is a bit on the higher end because of location but not complaining! Parking was hard to find since it was close to dinner time (around 6pm when we arrived in the area) so need to keep that in mind! Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend for the atmosphere, food, and service!
came in during lunchtime on a saturday. wasn't too packed but still lively.
service was quick - from seating, to taking orders, to our food arriving.
lovely atmosphere, with great lighting and decor.
we got the duck curry, which was rich and sweet and delicious.
the larb chicken salad, which had delectable meat but the raw veggies were not the best tasting.
and one of the seafood entrees, which was flavorful and had a diverse set of ingredients.
warning: even a 2/5 can be pretty spicy for those who are not used to spice.
