One of my favorite places for brunch. The staff is very friendly here. The coffee is strong enough to jump start a semi truck. French toast is a tradition for my wife and I. It's always something else, and the French toast. The side pastry as an appetizer comes with many of the brunch entrees. They also have a bakery on the side if you want to get some pastries on the go.
Stopped in for their famous cheese puffs. Got a baker's dozen and enjoyed every last one. Light, crisp, flaky, and flavorful. Just the right size for a mouthful. Yum! The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Restaurant NOT open!! Only the bakery. We walked 20 minutes from downtown with our luggage looking forward to full service breakfast. Quiche and a muffin made due. Small cafe tables on sidewalk. Thank goodness I would’ve cried LOL 😂
Year after year, I wait inpatiently for peach season so that I can enjoy their deliciously yummy peach pie. Year after year I'm never disappointed. Thanks See you next year FatApple!😋
My ultimate favorite place for breakfast! The waffles and mocha are my favorite!!! I was raised on their waffles—I make a point to go every time I’m back I. California. There are not a lot of places around that serve waffles that aren’t Belgian-style. They also have real maple syrup (the cherry on top). Their mochas have a dollop if the best tasting whipped cream I have ever had.
Food is subpar for a restaurant. Seems like heat and eat rather than cooked.
To me, they got best Quiche in the whole SF Bay Area.
I was just saying to folks that it's a neighborhood gem. The only restaurant within many blocks, and it is the perfect solution for breakfast OR lunch. Delicious food; low prices; friendly, caring servers -- thank God it exists! UPDATE: I've now had dinner at FatApple's several times, and it's amazingly good ... a nice variety, but I often order whatever the special is that evening. I defy you to find better prices in Berkeley for the value you get here.
