The food is great! The portions are HUGE... so either bring your appetite or an extra person. 2 ppl and have a meal 😋 that is reasonably priced and have enough left over for later.
I recommend trying the corned beef hash with a side of pumpernickel toast!
We’ve been coming here for the past decade, and this is by far the best Jewish delicatessen we’ve ever tried. We ordered the famous chicken soup and the hot pastrami sandwich with a side of potato pancakes. We get this every time, and the quality and portions never disappoint. This is definitely the biggest hot pastrami sandwich we’ve ever had, and every bite of it is delicious. The service is always great, and there’s typically no wait to get a table. Before we leave, we also always love to buy some of their hamantashen pastries and cookies from the bakery to take home and enjoy. We’ll definitely continue coming back for years to come!
Delicious Jewish deli spot. Tends to get crowded fast so get there early . Their sandwiches and breakfast is delicious. Large plates that can be easily shared between a family. Recommended
Just look at this photo - ordered pastrami about an hour ago - terrible. What is that honeycomb cut? Bad mouthfeel & flavor. Spent over $100++ and tip 25%. I used to come here for nice clean cuts of pastrami when I lived around the corner - never like this. Feel free to reach out to me management if you want more details, but I will not hold my breath. Will not be back for this dish for sure.
Came in for some matzo ball soup on a chilly September day. It was delicious and the perfect choice to warm up before continuing on our journey along South St. It has an old school, mellow Jewish deli vibe. Worth a stop.
Excellent food & service. Our server was very nice & had a great attitude. He was crazy busy with a table of about 5 women who had him back & forth!
Been going to Famous for years. Best whitefish salad on poppy and the chocolate cookies with walnuts are to die for!
Kosher style dining at its best. Sandwiches are both huge and ultra huge! Sharing is permitted without having to pay a sharing fee.
Definitely recommend the famous chopped liver sandwich and the Reuben which we enjoyed. Come hungry since there is so much to eat.
Got a regular size soft baked chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Was the prefect ending to our meal. In front is a full scale take out area for meat, fish, sides, and big desserts.
Parking is extremely limited in this area but metered street parking is available.
Get your picture taken here with one of the many photos of celebrities from yesteryear who had dined here.

Coffee here was amazing! The iced latte was great! The black coffee was something else! So fruity and aromatic - truly a great experience! Very much recommended getting their beans too!
A must stop if you are in Philly!!! Kevin's creations are incredibly delicious. Put down the cheese steak and go grab some tasty vegan, gf and dairy free options. Dessert=a meal. Back-to-back visits made us super fans!!! Pls open up a place in J-
Joined on a student membership for the summer and really enjoyed my experience. All the trainers were highly knowledgeable (and incredibly athletic) and made sure everyone felt welcome in the gym. When I was dealing with a shoulder injury, they were
