I am giving this park 5 stars for a surprisingly magical fall colors that peaks in late October on this trail. It was quite a nice surprise. It was only a very small area in the park but it still did not disappoint. I am definitely coming back.
Nice trail , well kept. Did this trail early spring in the morning. It was very peaceful and quiet . It was about 1 hour walk total from and to the parking at a slow to moderate pace for about 2 miles.I have encountered a few people with dogs.
There's a small parking lot near the trail head off the main road, Park Hours are from Dawn to Dusk and vehicles are threatened to be towed after hours. The beginning of the trail has soft pea size gravel with small inclines as it snakes around a retention pond fence for a utility company. Most of the trail is gravel consistency for driving over. There are several utility pumps and a couple power lines that might add mechanical hum and displeasure to nature seekers. Overall it's a shady walk and getting to the creek was a delight for me as I found a bunch of bluegill nesting. Definitely worth my time. There are a few benches along the trail, but the plants have grown over them enough to make it undesirable on using. People also do not clean up after their animals on this trail, so be mindful of where you step.
Before we went, I read some reviews. I saw some that seem to complain about utility equipment nearby. Just so you know, a dam with a reservoir *is* a utility. Having said that, this was our first time going to the park, so we didn’t know what to expect. There is a small area from the trail to see a bit of the reservoir. It has one bench. We’d hoped that there would be a larger area with a better view, but not so. After all, it is Fall Creek Trail, and follows the creek. As others have mentioned, it doesn’t seem to be well maintained. Well aged soda and booze bottles nestle amongst the poison ivy which turned us back from completing the trail. No thanks on an itchy rash. There are a couple of broken picnic tables in a grassy area. No facilities. All in all, not a horrible place to get in a short hike if you’re careful of the ivy. A little more maintenance would go a long way here.
I've never actually used this trail. I always walk the deer paths and shoreline by the river. There are tranquil little streams and lots of local wildlife, specifically birds.
It’s a water treatment trail, meh. It’s okay but I would not go back. I found a few pretty parts.
Great, scenic location for a park but the maintenance of the park by Indy Parks is poor. Perhaps this is due to how far away it is from other Indy Parks facilities or how few amenities there are here. There are no restrooms, water fountains, or other facilities. The parking area is extremely small. None of these things are issues for people planning ahead, but may catch others by surprise. Unfortunately there are some users of the park who don't respect the land nor other people using it. Litter, particularly alcohol and food containers, are often scattered along the trail.
Parked here for an hour yesterday and came back to my window smashed in + purse stolen. Apparently there are no cameras in the parking lot so be careful!

Beautiful, big park, lots of trails for walking. Plenty of shade trees, an amphitheatre, pavilion, a conservatory, gardens and much more. We enjoyed our walk this morning
Beautiful little slice of prairie and forest within the city limits. Easy walking trail with some foot bridges. Wear sturdy shoes as the path can be uneven with exposed roots and rocks to trip on.
Nice park. Lots of picnic tables and seating in the shade. I ate my lunch and enjoyed a quiet Sunday afternoon. Basketball courts and playground looked nice and were empty.
This is such a great playground! Best on an overcast or not too hot day since there is no shade on the actual play area. But SO FUN! GREAT for a wide range of ages with places for care givers to sit and watch. Wide open field at the back for running
