Just 2 years old. This is sponsored by The American Bible Society. They are headquartered in Philadelphia. Staff is very nice. Interesting concept. Not very hands-on. Not really child-friendly. Quiet. Peaceful. Reflective. Not sure if this group is one of the neo-Christian hate groups, or not. I found only positive imagery and displays. Worth $10. The interactive wand was cool to use. Pictures of Billy Graham made me nervous I was donating to the wrong side. Still beautiful in parts. They should have display based on the book "The Bible Tells Me So." Showing how the Bible has been used for good and evil, and sometimes exact opposite causes.
This is such an incredible place to learn, discover and become closer to God our creator through the stories and the history. This Discovery Centre ties in America’s history and Christianity in this wonderful nation. The centre also addresses a number of racial and political challenges that America has faced.
It was a great experience, we received more than we bargained for. The technology was out of this world! 5 stars. I loved the conversation booth, very thought provoking.
Nice new museum. Having the "lamp" stick was an interesting new concept. You can scan the story or quotes you like and reflect upon it at the end of the museum. Also you can go back to it on their website. Very neat concept. Not a museum for 10 and under as they just want to scan everything and not understand what it is all about. Amazing stories and content for the young adult and adults though. Worth checking out if you have a chance to see how important faith and liberty was to the United States.
I really enjoyed this museum. It made me think about the important role that faith and the Bible played in history of our country.
While it recognized that people used specific verses from the Bible to support terrible things such as slavery and segregation, it told the stories of multitudes of Americans from all races and social status whose faith and holistic understanding of the Bible inspired them to fight injustice, right wrongs, and stand up for the vulnerable and oppressed.
It is also a beautifully designed museum with lots of interesting ways to interact. We kind of stumbled upon this museum even though it is on a prominent corner next to the Constitution Center and Independence Mall. It has a very nice gift shop as well. We spent two hours there, but could have spent more time.
Very informative and comprehensive museum with great immersive technology to help you understand more. Our whole family really enjoyed it.
Amazing experience! Most Immersive Museum I have ever been. A FLDC lamp was given to me to collect exhibitions that interest me. I was given a code for me to refresh my memories at home by accessing the exhibitions I collected. I was also able to use the lamp to point to screens of my interests. I was also able to record my opinion in a conversation booth. The content was so ispiring, I think I spent more than 2 hours in there. I recommend anyone who finishes visiting the Independence Hall and Liberty Bell to spend sometime here to get the full picture of America's history 😀!
Very nice experience! It has a lot of historic memories of past preachings to people hungry for the word and also times of transgressions against minorities! Just need a little more upside of what the experience did for them being in this great country! Show the success of what so many minorities have become!! Some success stories of past ancestors and the legacies!! There were a lot of churches born from all that happened in America!! Don't let it all be negative!! The American experience has made us all who we are today!! We have to remain positive in the hope of things to come! Celebrating our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth and freedoms together!!!@! :)
