Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa - Featured Reviews (1419)
Although we were there only for one night, it was a memorable experience for us! The valet staff were super nice in directing us to where to self park and check in was a breeze. The live music and food truck was a great way to spend our evening. We took part in the wine tasting which was super fun. We even had a chance to take a dip in the hotel pool and try out their special drinks!! The rooms were super quiet and I loved how the hotel was so walkable!! We will have to try making smores on one of their many firepits next visit! EVERYONE was so nice and treated us like old friends -- there were no "stupid" questions we could ask. We booked a day pass to the spa the next morning and that was the highlight! We soaked in all their different mineral pools (the one with music underwater was my favorite!), experience their bathing ritual and had a yummy healthy snack. I had been before years ago and still dream about their ahi tuna nachos which they sadly don't have on the menu anymore. All my friends still talk about it!! :) All in all, a great trip and we will definitely be back!
Great hotel, and amazing staff. Deb at the bar was a real highlight, always going the extra mile to provide amazing service for our night caps. Great place where you will feel right at home. They have a cute cat who lives behind the valet stand called Bugs, he’s the official Mascot in our eyes. Right in line with the sweet Chardonnay (golden retriever)!
The location and grounds are beautiful. The bathhouse is amazing. Staff is very nice. I was a bit disappointed in my massage, however. My friend and I were told to wait in the chairs outside the bathhouse for our masseuses to come get us. My friend’s masseuse came to get her at her appointment time (which was scheduled for the same time as mine). But my masseuse did not come find me. 15 minutes later, I walked towards the spa desk to see if my massage was even happening, assuming it probably wouldn’t at that point. My masseuse, Rosa, was standing there chewing gum and asked if I had an appointment. When I told her who I was, she said “oh, you’re with me”. I could hear her gum chewing throughout the entire time. She also finished at the ending time, to the minute, shorting me 15 minutes. My friend was in her massage before me, and came out a few minutes after me. We asked for the same massage, but my friend was sharing about a face and foot massage that she got and I didn’t. If it wasn’t for the bathhouse, I probably would have felt the day was a waste. I wish I was paired up with someone else, as I’m sure not all of their masseuses are like this. The gum chewing, cutting corners and being shorted by 15 minutes, especially at that price, is really unacceptable.
the place is cute, the lobby is nice and restaurant/bar area looks refreshed. the rooms need some updating. ||quick example - they have the bose radios in there that have the cd player, but you can not connect to bluetooth and fm doesnt work - so pretty useless. the floor tiles are like an adobe tile and the rooms feel like they havent been updated in 30 years. the bathrooms had some mold in the shower - they did come clean that asap. hotel had a shuttle service which was nice.
Everyone who we encountered from check in through check out were very professional, service oriented and kind. We relaxed pool side after our treatments and the waitress was very good. My only suggestion is that when I asked for a pitcher of water (I saw one by a cabana) she said that there were only 4 pitchers and they were reserved for the cabanas. I would think the resort could afford to purchase more water pitchers for guests rather than making us get up, go into the lobby to refill those tiny water glasses.
I was not a guest at this hotel, I was just using the spa. I was supposed to get a massage yesterday at another location but they had to cancel due to the massage therapist being sick. I was very thankful that the spa here was able to take me very last minute. I also mentioned on the phone that my boyfriend would not be getting a service but we would like to get a pool day pass. She said no problem, I will be adding that to your reservation!
So cut to a few hours later, I check in at the spa. First of all, the spa receptionists were extremely snobby and did not make us feel welcome whatsoever. I told them about having a day pass added to my reservation and they had no clue what I was talking about. I don’t appreciate being lied to over the phone or even worse, lied to my face when I got there. We explained that we came here so my boyfriend could hang out by one of the pools while I got a massage. They wanted us to pay $149 for a pass that’s $109 on resort pass and they were claiming all the passes were sold out for the day. We explained that we would be only using the pool for a few hours and we would also be purchasing drinks and food poolside.
They were not working with us whatsoever when we were paying for a service at the spa and it just was really off putting. I do have to say that my massage was WONDERFUL. LaTosha was an amazing massage therapist and I would recommend going to her! But if you don’t want to feel belittled, avoid the check in receptionists at the spa at all costs. This interaction alone will make sure I will never visit this location again.
The massage we experienced was excellent. The masseuse was effective, professional, and kind. The results were rejuvenating. However, the property is in need of upgrading. Fixtures are worn and painting required. Such a nice place. It’s a shame property has been allowed to age ungracefully!
We are in the second day of our six day vacation at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn. We are having the time of our lives. We absolutely love Sonoma County and The Fairmont. The grounds are vast as they are beautiful. The rooms are absolutely wonderful. The staff are especially warm, friendly and inviting. Special thanks to Ann, the resident gardener that makes and keeps the grounds beautiful. We met her the other day and she offered to take us on a hike to Jack London‘s historical estate in Sonoma. She was very knowledgeable about everything there. My dad and I would read Jack London books, he’s one of my favorite authors. To see his home is to understand his inspiration for his many stories. It was an amazing experience for me. She also referred us to other places to go, wineries, the coast, redwood forests. Ann was probably the most friendly and nicest person you’d ever met. We would come back to this resort simply because of Ann. Book your stay here, It won’t disappoint. Great resort. Thank you Fairmont.
I cannot begin to describe how wonderful it was staying at Sonoma Bungalows. I went to Napa/Sonoma to celebrate my birthday in September and my bestie came along, we had the best girls trip! We stayed in the studio unit and it was perfect for us. Loc
First time there and we really enjoyed it. Wonderful and homey rooms/suites. Outdoor areas are very inviting. Very close and convenient to the Square. Marcie was an excellent host!
The Donum Estate is a 200-acre winery located in between Sonoma and Napa Counties. A top-notch producer of Pinot Noir with one of the largest private sculpture collection in the world. Well worth visiting.
The BEST overall experience. Touring the vineyard, tasting the grapes, excellent wines, and the views. Ivan was a terrific host. We will definitely be back again.
Come for the coffee, stay for the good vibes! The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating and you can tell they enjoy their work environment. The drive thru moves fast and if you want to stay a while, there are tables outside.
As someone from New York, I have a high standard when it comes to bagels and I have to say Homegrown Bagels impressed me with their lox special on everything bagel. Itâs not quite a NY bagel but pretty darn good and the best Iâve had in Californi
Another great evening at Cafe La Haye; this time for my daughter's birthday. It is so nice to see the familiar faces of the staff and folks that seem to be locals.
All of the specials sounded tempting, as did the menu items. I had the ahi tuna tarta
Elisa is such a great hostess! Our group rented three rooms this past week, and none of us had any complaints, because we totally enjoyed it! this location is just incredible, and the town of Sonoma is so charming. You are scheduled half of a block o
Do yourself a favor and stop here if you are in the area or driving through Sonoma. The food and drinks are fantastic! The pozole rojo and pozole verde were delicious â not something you can find in many places! I highly recommend any cocktail with
