I've been to the Fairmont several times over the years for a professional conference. It is a great location for a conference and the conference facilities themselves are very good (with the exception of many, many chairs missing feet and making for an unstable seating experience). The resort itself is a fun place to stay, and the staff are excellent, often going above and beyond the call of duty. Why only 3 stars, then? There are several reasons.||1) The guest rooms are just not up to snuff, and this has been a consistent problem. In a word, the guest rooms are tired - they need new carpet, paint, etc. There is no room cleaning during an extended stay (which is generally fine for me). But I expect a full (or almost full) roll of toilet paper on the spindle; I expect the carpet to be clean so I'm not getting random hairs from previous guests stuck on my feet or appearing in my bed; I expect more than 5 hangers in the closet for an extended stay. ||2) I'm also disappointed with the quality of the food, both in the bar, the cafe, and in the conference facilities. Many people opt to go elsewhere to eat for precisely this reason. The resort is losing business by not upping its game in this regard.||3) The fitness room is only open from 7 am to 10 pm, making it difficult for conference attendees to get some exercise. It would be worth remodeling the room to put the access door in a place where guests could access it 24 hours a day.||The hot springs and the excellent staff are what stand out at this resort. Hopefully other parts of the Fairmont Hot Springs experience will be improved to match.

Lovely stay. Plenty of pool space to accommodate guests. We spent our time in the outdoor hot pool, which was clean and well maintained. Our room was spotless, and we appreciated being able to open our balcony door for fresh air during the night. We ate at both the cafe and dining room and received prompt attentive service in both. The front staff was welcoming and efficient, and we really enjoyed all the holiday decor, including the massive tinsel covered Christmas tree! The only caution I can provide is the rooms are far from sound proof. We could hear all the hallway conversations clearly, not to mention our very boisterous neighbors as they entertained well into the very late hours. But, overall, we very much enjoyed our relaxing stay, will certainly return, and recommend to others!

The service was absolutely amazing! Every single person working at the resort was friendly and welcoming. From house keeping, front desk, gift shop, bar and restaurant to the life gaurds. Just blown away at how nice and friendly the staff is 100% 5 start service. While the service was so great, the fine dining restaurant food was not good at all or worth what you are charged- do not recommend. The cafe and bar service was also awesome, and the food was good, just regular bar cafe food no complaints. The rooms are nice BUT there is no temperature control in the rooms. So you are either boiling hot or freezing cold. And for the price it seems ridiculous that you can't control the temperature in the room for comfort. The pools inside and outside were so great. Plenty of room, not over crowded, temperature was just right and we thoroughly enjoyed soaking and swimming. While it would be nice for the resort to upgrade some of the amenities we overall had a very pleasant time. And again I cannot express how friendly the staff in every area is.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable and staff was friendly. But...our phone was inoperable and the TV just showed a screen saver and the remote didn't work for "guide" or "menu". We walked down to the front desk and a maintenance man was sent up. He said that the TVs have not been working properly for a week or so and showed us a work around to get channels. There was no channel guide in the room.||No menu in the room for any of the three restaurants. All soap dispensers in the women's locker room were out of soap and stayed that way for the two days we were there after reporting it to the front desk and two other staffers.||Dinner in the "fine dining" room was just okay and cost close to $100. We ate in the cafe the next night and found the food to be good but still very expensive. We figured the cost was due to the relative remoteness of the resort.||The pools were wonderful and well maintained but we won't be back. As long term Montanans [50+ years] we remember when this was a premier, affordable resort. We will go back to Quinns for a quality experience for the money.

We skiied at Discovery and stayed at Fairmont. The pools were so great after a day skiing, and the food in the restaurants was delish. Our room was very large a comfortable for a family of 4. Everyone on staff was helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

From the accommodations to the friendly staff by far the best hospitality experience I have had! The rooms were very clean and updated. The cafe was a great place to stop for a tasty and quick bite to eat. The pools were kept clean and the staff ensured a relaxing and safe environment.

Had a very enjoyable time minus check-in. Check-in is 4pm which is a hour later than most hotels which is fine but we were unable to check in until 5:30pm. It's nice that you can swim right away but to have a room to get set up in after a drive would have been better. The pools are clean and temps were great. The restaurant is reasonably priced with plenty of selections and food overall was very good. The pool staff, hotel staff, and restaurant staff are friendly (although a bit overwhelmed) and overall experience was great.

We had an amazing ski weekend at Sugar Loaf Lodge. Our cabin had beautiful rustic charm and was so cozy, warm and comfortable. The spiral staircase to get to the loft was a cool throwback and the views from the loft were amazing! The location is i
