Fairfield Inn East Rutherford Meadowlands - Hotel in East Rutherford - 850 Paterson Plank Rd, USA

Great hotel for visiting NYC on a budget. The rooms are big and you have plenty of space for luggage. There is an ironing board which was a bonus! There is shampoo and conditioner in the shower, so no need to bring any. There's also a microwave (turn the light on at the door for it to have power) and there's a fridge. There is NO SAFE which is the only drawback to the room. There are ice machines and laundry on site. The breakfast is good, but the hot options need some work. The bacon was too crisp....couldn't really eat it easily as it feel apart...more like bacon crumble. Haha. The eggs were ok, but the pre packaged sandwiches are not good 😔, but the rest of the breakfast is fantastic. The eating area is small, but they have an overflow room and it's usually quiet. I use this hotel for my student and adult trips and they really enjoy it! Easy access into NYC as well....bus stop right outside the door!

Today we had breakfast at our hotel. The warm options were: sausage sandwich, bacon and cheese omelette. I have a few concerns: No dish said whether it was vegetarian, vegan, contains nuts etc. I mistakenly had the cheese omelette that had bacon in it. This is a huge thing for me since I don't consume bacon or ham. The staff should have been more respectful of dietary conditions and mentioned it with a sticker or a (V) etc on the placard. Other guests made this mistake too. Also, there were no hot meals for vegetarians. Had to have cold boiled eggs or cereal. Why. There could have been one vegetarian option at least. This was not inclusive at all. Very disappointed today. Both because I consumed something I would never otherwise have, and because so many of us were excluded from the meal. Please look into this.

Only issue with the rooms - but still warrants a '3' score, is overall condition and cleanliness. It felt like the room was recently updated, but only about 75% of the way. Carpet was new, bathroom was in good condition, TV/Appliances were all fine, bed, linens were very nice. But the couch looked like it had been there since the place was built, was stained and threadbare in places. Likewise for the furniture - some seemed new-ish, other pieces were well worn. Hotel staff were super good about housekeeping and getting the tub drain working very quickly, AM breakfast service was above average for a Fairfield. Overall, would I stay there again? Absolutely - but I would like the rest of the room to be up to snuff.

Used this hotel for my wedding block and they were phenomenal! Tracey specifically truly took amazing care of us throughout the way and had champagne and a card for us in our suite too! They helped us with shuttles and assuring our guests were happy. Rooms were comfy too! Thank you Tracey for helping us and taking care of this on our wedding weekend!!

Positive: This hotel was in a great location, very close to the stadium. Our room was recently updated and clean. Beds were super comfy. Delicious restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely stay here again. Negative: ""

Super happy with the overall experience, staff was very friendly and professional and they provided everything I asked for. Especially for my son's dietary allergy needs, Tracy Chaperian the manager, was outstanding. Highly recommend this hotel.

We have stayed at this Fairfield several times. From desk staff pleasant and helpful. Rates are reasonable considering proximity to NYC. Room was clean and everything functioned (microwave, coffee maker, mini-fridge). Beds very comfortable. There was a good variety of breakfast offerings, just wish there was a waffle maker. Breakfast crowds depend largely on whether a school group is staying there. Breakfast staff kept things stocked as best they could. Wish there was a waffle maker, but that probably would have slowed things down considerably at the buffet. Very conveniently located on the NJ Transit bus line into the city, schedule and easy to read directions available at the front desk. Bus info needs to be updated with changed fares. Would stay here again.

The room was ok, it was a little small and a little bit dirty. But the breakfast was the most disappointing part. Breakfast starts at 7am, I got there at 8am and by then the eggs were cold, the oatmeal was a solid clump, and out of yogurt. They don't even have real fruit - just some sort of blueberry compote. Stay anywhere else if you want an edible breakfast and a clean room.
