This was my second visit to this property, my first visit was for 5 days and the most recent visit was for 7 days. Overall I think the property is clean and well kept, each morning I saw workers picking up trash and dumping trash cans. My check-in was easy and pleasant like last time. My room and bathroom were clean and stocked with the necessities and I didn't have any leftovers from the last guests. The only hiccup that took place was a computer software update that took place mid-way through my stay which completely checked me out of my room, fortunately the management was able to correct the issue without any overcharges. Overall my stay was just as enjoyable as last time. I would like to give a personal thank you to Kirsten the general manager and the front desk managers Kesha and Barbara, their professionalism and warm hospitality always makes for a wonderful trip.
One of my worst experiences with the Marriot group.||Confusion , deliberate misdirection and play of words while booking. We clearly needed a 2-bed room, couldn’t have been clearer because I “know” I have 2 kids. Still ended up in a room with 1-bed and was asked to use the sofa as a make-shift bed.||Extremely rude staff during the check-in time . We were driving from Toronto to NJ - that’s a 9 hour drive. After that ordeal, guests expect an iota of politeness and compassion. Almost every guest will have significant travel before checking in and could do with basic hospitality and cordiality. Primitive hospitality basics missing.||No toiletries provided. Not sure how they were unable to provide with the basics. We had a late checkin and calling reception for basic supplies is nothing I had ever experienced at a hotel like Marriot.||Worst morning breakfast menu I have ever seen in a hotel. Scrambled eggs , tea , coffee , bagels and that’s it. The breakfast crew was much polite though. ||Housekeeping wasn’t done even when I explicitly asked them to. We stayed for 5 days and they changed sheets only once. For towels , the housekeeping asked me to collect towels myself and bring it out to her, as if it was a 50-50 effort . You bring out the bins, and I will collect them. ||Sheets aside, they didn’t bother to clean toilets / rooms. ||Parking was ample, but very busy. It boasted valet parking , but there was no valet around. ||Very un-Marriot like. But maybe that’s how Marriott’s are turning into these days.
Stayed for one night. Front desk was extremely welcoming and professional. However, non-smoking room smelt of smoke. Not sure if previous occupier smoked or if the person who cleaned the room did but was not pleasant. Then the AC constantly ran even when I changed the settings. My room must not have been updated yet since it was dated and had numerous stains on the walls and ceiling. Location was not great if coming from other direction from which the hotel is on. Breakfast wasn’t anything special. Expected more from a 3-star hotel. Prices were more than what I would’ve liked to pay. Oh and my bathroom light was only half working. Also, if you’re in the bathroom you can hear all the facets and drains running from neighbors and those above you. Which was extremely loud
The place is nice. The price a little high but not too bad. Had a small problem with the door lock upon arrival and had to wait for it to be fixed. Seems like the sort of thing that regular maintenance should have prevented. Staff is attentive but in my opinion too much. If you like people that are always asking if something is wrong you'll love it. For me it was a little too intense.
Where do I begin, The location is not in the best area , they have no staff on the weekend. My toilet was clogged when I called down , I was told there was no staff available only 1 front desk so they left a plunger outside my room door. The carpet in the elevator smells like feet. We called to get blankets for the night but they ran out , hard beds . The pool is extremely small & they have no seating available. They are not restocking the towels , the floors are soaked . No maintaining at all ! The morning we left we couldn’t even swim they closed the pool, when I asked why .i was told because “yesterday was a lot” . The breakfast was ok , very low on options . We will def choose another hotel next time this is more like a motel .
Our flight was canceled and we made reservations on the website. We Ubered to the hotel only to learn that our reservation was invaid due to an outdated system. Along with probably 50 others whos flights were canceled. The lady at the desk was helpful and nice but didnt have much to offer. The entrance and lobby were not clean and smelled of pot very bad!
I gave 4 stars for location because it’s a quick turn from the highway, and it’s easy to miss getting into the parking lot. The staff are kind, and professional. The rooms are amazing, and since it’s off the highway, many places like malls, restaurants, movies, etc., are convenient. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve had.
Stayed for a night. Check-in was smooth, front desk staff are nice, professional and polite. I didn't like the location of the hotel, and rooms are dated. The air conditioner functions (auto fan) was not working, resulting in a continuous running of AC (and it was a bit noisy as well). Bathroom faucet was defective. There was no body-lotion in the bathroom (I'm sure they would have provided it, if I had asked for it. So not a big deal, but it should've been there I think as it's a pretty basic amenity). Could not check out the breakfast. I went for it at 9 AM, and they had already wrapped up the service. I then realized that the breakfast is from 6-9 AM (usually the breakfast timings at most of the Marriott properties that I've been to runs for 3.5-4 hrs).
I enjoyed my recent stay Sept. 13th-15th. Spacious clean, room. The staff was great when I need to extend my stay by one day! Convenient location to EWR. I loved the king size bed but I didn't like the pillows. Too squishy for my taste but I made it
Peaceful, quiet stay! Thank you Edwin for making my stay even better! When my plans fell through due to a delayed flight, Edwin got me set up hassle free! Traveling in from the West Coast after a hectic day was quite stressful. Thanks for making my t
I have been training at Velez Jiujitsu for two years. In those two years, I have grown fond of the people who train at Velez and have considered Javier Velez a friend. The school is very technical in its teaching but very relaxed in its atmosphere.
Love the experience. I brought my young child here for a performance in December 23. A Christmas Carol play. Looking forward to next Christmas. Hope to make it a tradition to visit the Avenel Performing Arts every year for a Christmas' theme play.

The livestock is great. I've only had one batch of corals from them but we're pest free and doing well almost a year later. Parking is not the most convenient and tight aisles indicative of the vast majority of aquarium places but worth it. Staff (or
