Fairfield Inn & Suites Winston-Salem Downtown - Hotel in Winston-Salem - 125 S Main St, USA

The stay was perfect - no issues, awesome parking garage across the street that was easy to get in and out and a nice restaurant right next door. But what I wanted to mention was how friendly everyone was who worked at the hotel. From the ladies behind the front desk over multiple days, to the happy woman behind the bar to the super helpful housekeeper on the third floor, every, single person I interacted with was friendly and kind. That is NOT common. I travel a lot, and this hotel felt like the epitome of "southern nice." The housekeeper offered to clean my room as I was leaving, even though she didn't need to that day. It was nice to come back to a "refreshed" room. What a jewel - and located in easy walking distance of shops and sights.

I stayed here once when none of my go to hotels in the area was available. Being as close to the Route 421 as it is, my expectations were low. I was happily surprised that the staff here was super friendly and helpful. The room was maybe a bit dated, but it was very clean and the beds were comfy. We were not facing the highway, but we did not hear any noise all night. The breakfast was a pretty typical hotel buffet, but they kept it well stocked and the food was good. The parking was an additional charge and the garage was across the street. Nevertheless, the hotel was in a pretty central location from which it is pretty convenient to get anywhere around Winston-Salem.

Great hotel stay. The location was convenient as it was just off the highway. The staff were always friendly. From the time we checked in, breakfast and check-out, all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfy.

Update 2024 July 27- Aug. 1We stayed one week. All of the staff were cordial; but, Donna (Room Attendant/Housekeeper) and Mr. Michael (Night Auditor) were most hospitable. Rooms were clean and overall in good condition. Free Wifi, T.V. with streaming service, Coffee Maker, Mini Refrigerator, Iron, Board and hair dryer. The freezer needs to be defrosted causing us to loose storage space in the fridge. There is an ice machine and laundry area on floor 3. We enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this location.

When in the area, we always stay at this Fairfield Inn. The location, next to Old Salem and within walking distance to good restaurants and the arts district, is great. The hotel is clean and seems to have been redone fairly recently. But, most of all, the staff is terrific. Shania, at the front desk, and Carmen, behind the bar, are delightful. They are both warm and welcoming. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars? Our room seemed a little tired, with the drapes hanging off the hooks. Other than that, it was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet.

I just checked in and I must say , I was amazed by Taylor Marsh's front desk customer service skills. She went above and beyond to assist me and my family. She's definitely tip worthy,💲. She was even able to multitask in such an organized way that ,I didn't mind if she needed to assist someone while I was getting helped ( And no not saying that happened BUT She was SUPER EFFICIENT)! My daughter has bad allergies and we had my 3yr old grandson; she provided us with the pack and play, extra sheeting and was genuinely concerned with how we felt in our rooms. Thank You Marriott/ Fairfield Inn for hiring such an impressive person. - Sims Family

We stayed the weekend for my niece’s wedding. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the bed’s very comfortable. The grill/bar in the lobby boasted about their wings and they were right! If I lived there, I’d go just for them. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again when in the area.

The location of the hotel is not ideal to the heart of the city. We have stayed here before and had a much better experience. The tv wouldn’t turn off wouldn’t change channels phone change volume. So I called the desk and I was told I need to come down and get a new remote because there was only one person working in the entire hotel. In a town where we saw swat teams roaming the streets. It seems unsafe to have just one man working the front desk who can’t leave the front desk. There is no ice on every floor. I came here for my birthday weekend and I’m pretty much let down. I’d love to get out of here but of course there is the cancellation rules. This is all for a person who does have status with a Marriott brand.
