Fairfield Inn & Suites Plainville - Hotel in Plainville - 400 New Britain Ave, USA

The location is perfect. I was here on a business trip and the hotel was four minutes from where I was working and has a pizza place attached so it was convenient. It took a half hour to actually get checked in but the staff was very friendly and respectful. The furniture is older and worn. The fridge doesn’t keep beverages very cold but got the job done. The beds are very comfortable which I was grateful for. Second night no hot water. I literally had to take a cold shower. For a 150 dollar a night hotel this is simply unacceptable. Night one it took running the water for 30 minutes to get hot water. Second night nothing at all. Overall I would not recommend this hotel. It’s dated and way overdue for a remodel including the water heater. Don’t let the fancy lobby fool you. I will not be staying here again holiday inn will get my business next trip out here

I do not typically write bad reviews but feel I have to here. My wife and I booked a room months back for a family get together. We go to check in after the party ~9 PM only to be told they over booked the hotel. I do not like to shoot the messenger, but it is a complete embarrassment to the Marriott Brand to let this happen. We were told it was a "third party" issue. I don't care. A 60 billion dollar company MUST DO BETTER. We have been loyal members to Marriott for a long time, and this is making me question that loyalty. Think twice before booking here.

Very strange check-in experience and old rooms. This hotel needs a remodel and shouldn’t be charging $170/night. We checked in to a seemingly empty hotel at 6pm and they told us our rooms were not ready. Check in is at 3pm. We waited almost an hour to get a room with no apology or explanation as to why we waited. Once we did start the check in process it took at least 20 minutes just to get room keys. Pretty frustrating—probably won’t be back unless they do a renovation and figure their stuff out.

Good hotel, typical Fairfield. THe location is conveniently close to I-84. The room was clean and quiet, good size. They have a small swimming pool though we did not use it. Breakfast was standard Fairfield. Nice people at the front desk. Good experience overall.

Upon checking in to the hotel everything seemed fine. However, there was NO HOT WATER for our entire stay!! 7/18-7/21/24. This was not an isolated incident; it was a common conversation with several families in the hotel. There was no hot water in the sink or the shower...not even at 2am. The manager on duty and desk staff had no way to address the issue. They insisted they called the GM, he was aware, the weekend is his day off and will respond to everyone on Monday. There is also a SECURITY issue at this hotel! Homeless people sleeping in the parking lot, a car was stolen as the person checked in, and the meeting room door that opened to the back patio was unlocked throughout the weekend. The manager has zero sense of customer service! He did not respond until Friday and for the most part claims we are lying about the hot water issue. The management company (Jamsan Management as not responded to the two emails that were sent) and quite honestly Marriott as also dropped the ball with zero resolution. I am fairly easy going and understand at times things may fall short of the expectations but, this is unacceptable. The manager's response is even more unacceptable. It may be centrally located, or the location may be easily accessible but, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

The hotel is older and has not been kept up. The worst part are the rooms. Rooms smell of mold and have a damp feel. We checked into one room on the 3rd floor and as soon as we opened the door, the moldy smell was so strong we walked out and asked for another room. Our 2nd room was on the first floor, it was slightly better but still the mold smell was unavoidable. This was a stay to play hotel for our child’s hockey team so we had to stay here. We stayed for 3 nights and as soon as we would leave the room we would feel instant relief in our sinuses from the mold. This hotel also charges $360 a night for these rooms. That is incredible. All of the parents on our team mentioned the mold smell in their rooms so this is a hotel wide issue. Just unacceptable. Definitely do not recommend this hotel. It’s a health hazard.

The staff here is kind enough but the rooms are dated and in the three times I’ve tried to shower the water was ice cold. I finally called the front desk and was told indeed yes there was currently no hot water and I should talk with the manager. So I guess the next time I’m in the area I’ll bring a tent where I can also not be able to bathe. If you are seeking comfort or basic human needs go elsewhere. The Holiday Inn in Southington is a better alternative.

I am here in Connecticut because I am moving back from Florida. I'm staying in Plainville because my best friend lives here and it was convenient for her. I didn't expect the world, but for the price, I was a bit disappointed considering I recently stayed in Colorado for a similar price and the accommodations were much better. The staff here is nice and helpful. My biggest concern is the room, etc. The heat is noisy, and I have to keep the fan on in the bathroom to drown out the clunking noise of it going on and off constantly. The bathroom sink appears it might be clogging up, and I will have to tell them because it drains very slowly. The shower doesn't get very hot and only has one misty spray, plus the pressure keeps going up and down. It's weird. It's like an old hotel room from a movie. The bed isn't very comfortable (the other one had memory foam!), unfortunately. It does have a fridge and microwave, and they serve a free breakfast (not much for vegans or gluten free) but I managed. The workout room had one treadmill that sounded like it was going to fall apart... and I only walk. I switched over to the other one. I have been here for almost a week, so it's too bad it's not a bit nicer, but what could I expect?? It's fine, considering it is not top of the line overnight accommodations.
