As always, excellent experience. Great location away from downtown. Plenty of food options nearby, some within walking distance. Scooters coffee is nearby as well. Room was quiet, despite the hotel being sold out. Continental breakfast was nice...even had gluten free muffins available.

My family and I stayed here during our vacation for two nights. Overall the experience was fine. Nothing special and nothing too memorable. Which, again, we were on vacation and the hotel should not be the best thing about your vacation or you're doing vacation wrong. The Negatives: I will just get these out of the way, now. We got into our room and there were gnats in our bathroom - and they stayed throughout the trip. Our air conditioning went out our last night, around 5 in the morning I got up and turned it completely off because it was blowing hot air, and after about 30 minutes I turned it back on and it was blowing cold air again. It's been a warm week so maybe it was overworked, either way, the room was cool as we prepared to leave and everyone finished their last couple of hours of sleep well. The pool area was hot and humid, and smelled heavy of chlorine. The Positives: Decent breakfast available each morning. Check out was noon, which allowed us to sleep in our last day. The staff were very kind and welcoming. The refrigerator in the room didn't seem that cold at first, but it kept everything nice and cool like a fridge is supposed to, so we were grateful for that. The water was always hot when we needed it and cold when we needed it. It's in a solid location near some restaurants if you're just looking for something quick to eat in a hurry (Shucks Fish House and Oyster Bar was a great place for us). One thing that the hotel could probably not help was around 1 in the morning a group of students were very loud in our parking lot and woke us up with their yelling and laughing. They're just kids having fun and it's not the hotel's job to manage that, but as it is with most hotels, if you're wanting something specifically quiet, maybe request a room higher up than the first few floors. The sounds of the city did not bother us at all, and for the rest of the time things were pretty calm. Again, 4 stars. Nothing too out of the ordinary or special, but a solid stay overall. The gnats were a little annoying but they mostly kept to the bathroom. If you're looking for something cheap and fast, this wouldn't be a bad choice.

The experience we got was not what we expected from Marriott. We did not expect such poorly maintained facility for the premium room rent we pay. The bathroom door did not close in the room. When the front desk person came to check it, he did his best to fix the door and unfortunately, he did not have any other rooms and we had to deal with the broken door. Every time we had to use a lot of elbow grease to open and close the bathroom door. The sofa bed did not have the required bedding and was uncomfortable to sleep on. My wife had a bad migraine, and our kids were exhausted, so we decided not to look for another hotel, spend the night in the given room and manage with what we had. A couple of times we even had to use the restroom near the front desk rather than struggling with the broken restroom door in the room. To add to the misery, the toilet near the front desk had run out of toilet tissue and even after complaining about it multiple times, they were never replaced. The most interesting aspect is that the room assigned to us was “Accessible Room”, and I cannot even imagine what would have happened if someone with disability had stayed in the room and what difficulty they would have faced using the restroom. One positivity is - During the entire ordeal the front desk person was very professional and handled the situation comely.

We stayed here on July 30th and we were disappointed with our experience. The reservation was for 5 and when the room we got only slept 4 and had no where for a cot and was not allowed to put one in the room. The lady running the front desk that evening when we arrived was less than helpful and eventually offered a room with a king bed, a pullout couch and room for the cot. It left no room to get to the pullout and and we were left to deal with rearranging the room to make it fit on our own. The pullout hide-a-bed was very uncomfortable. Both the original room and the replacement room had things left from previous guests like shoes that it made me question the cleanliness although the cleaning staff we ran into was very hospitable and friendly. This experience didn't really fit in with our previous Fairfield and Marriott stays and I hope it is addressed at this location.

It's an older hotel, partially updated. We had 2 rooms (across the hall from each other since we couldn't get adjoining rooms) for 6 nights, both bathroom doors wouldn't shut properly. We were told rooms would be made up every 3 days but they came in every other day, without us knowing. It was a pleasant stay for the most part. Close to many restaurants and stores.

Excellent value with a great location. Kudos to Echo who made my check in experience very pleasant. The company is extremely fortunate to have a person of her caliber that exudes such professional qualities. She should be considered for a Management role. Thanks Echo for the World Class Customer Service experience, I appreciate it!

Pretty good overall. Not the most outgoing staff. But overall I would recommend for an affordable place in that area. Male sure to realize the thermostat is on the wall not the A/C.

We lost our home in the tornado Friday and were sent here by our insurance. Our card is the one on file. Our total cost of stay for the days we were there is around 500. They have pre authorization for another 1500. My husband was politely asking questions about their policies on that to try and get more clarity because whether we have money for it or not. Losing everything you own requires a lot of cash on hand and he just wanted to know more about why such a high amount was pre authorized and what length of time it takes for that to fall off. The receptionist at the front desk passively aggressively announced that she “ has had to explain this to fifty different people”. We are sorry that our questions were inconvenient to her but that’s literally a large part of being a hotel receptionist. Answering questions about the hotel…..a lady was asking us in the lobby about losing our home and why the hotel was so full. The receptionist needed to interject that it’s actually the Berkshire Hathaway convention making them so busy. Social skills and empathy were definitely lacking. Night shift and afternoon reception were polite.
