Housekeeping repeated issues. Arrived to room with garbage cans full, bathroom floor very dirty, normal towels missing. Complained but no staff after 4pm to resolve. Same issue next day. Room size as expected. Good location near main highway and close to town. However rooms on the East side hear highway roar. Breakfast good. I had expected decent housekeeping for a Marriott - disappointed. Dirty rooms are inexcusable at any price level.

I stayed here for 1 night with a friend. Overall, the stay was enjoyable. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Service was great and friendly. Only downfall I would give would be the pool. When we went in it had a bit of a green tint to it which at first I just thought it was some kind of light reflection causing it, but after getting in quickly realized the pool wasn't chlorinated and that green tint was algae. It also does show pictures on the Marriott website of there being a hot tub, but it has since been removed. Overall though it was an enjoyable stay and I would stay again if I'm in the area.

I feared that what I read in the reviews was real. Unfortunately it’s all true. The room was not clean. The bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been clean in a month. One of our fitted sheets had two stains that looked like they had been wet then dried. I’m afraid to think of what that was. The pool was green and very small, the length was probably about 10 feet and the width about 7 feet. And to top it all, both evenings into the night there would be suspicious vans parked right in front of the front parking lot. There was a musty and old smell to it especially in the elevators. This hotel is not cheap but could have just been a motel.

We were in Room 204. This Fairfield in New Buffalo, Michigan is old and in need of a renovation. While the common areas were not too bad, the room itself felt dated. The bathroom greatly needed an update. The tub/shower had part of the bottom rubbed off and there were rust stains in the caulking around the tub. The shower curtain liner did not reach the top of the tub, so water went all over the floor when my daughter attempted to shower. She also could not get the water temp to anything short of too hot. So … neither one of us showered during our overnight stay. The elevator smelled like marijuana. The breakfast was pretty basic when compared to the Springhill Suite in Kalamazoo we’d stayed at earlier in the week. |After staying at Springhill in Kalamazoo, I thought Marriott might be our new brand of lodging, but this one was more like a Best Western, I’d say. ||Pros: Our room was quiet, clean, and had comfortable beds. The staff was very kind. There was lemon water in the entryway.

I’m giving Fairfield Inn a solid three stars. Yes, the rooms are dated and some very simple maintenance could make a world of difference. Simply hanging the curtains back up to me, is easy and it’s sad it hasn’t been done. Makes the room look trashy and fixing the ceiling, also an easy task. We didn’t use or even look at the pool. The staff was nice, no issues there. I didn’t have a problem locating anyone. Some of the reviews mentioned no hair dryer. It’s in the closet, like the sticker in the bathroom tells you. Our room was clean, bathroom grout was gross. The beds were mostly comfortable. The curtains aren’t long enough and the sun peaked through, so I was up at 6am. One huge complaint and major safety concern- the doors to the rooms. They SLAM and I mean slam. No child should be last to enter the room or be left in charge of holding the door. If a little kid got their finger caught, it would 100% sever their finger. The doors should slow as they close, NOT increase in speed. Lawsuit waiting to happen. Would I stay here again, probably because of the convenience. Definitely needs to be updated.

3.5 stars, maybe. Needs an update in the rooms. It appears the surrounding area is experiencing a bit of a cannaboom, so maybe that is on the horizon. We always wipe things down in the room, no matter what, but this is room needed it. AC was out in the hallways and elevators. It did not work in room 406, but the front desk moved us to a new room, 409, without question. It was basic all the way around. No frills. The shower was sufficient with a very rigid plastic shower liner. There is a pantry for snacks and such in the lobby. Beds were comfy, and the pilows were different firmness. Did not use the pool or have breakfast. It is a five 5 minute drive down the road to the beach, shops, and places to eat. Sunset at the beach is beautiful. 20 minutes from Warren Dunes State Park. You really should go check that out. Desk staff were super friendly and helpful. I feel like if you stay here, you know what you are getting, and it appears to be the nicest option at this exit. We would stay there again, just maybe during a cooler time of the year. 🥵

It was a perfect location for us. Rooms are dated but they seem clean. The staff was friendly, but the hotel is clearly understaffed. They were running around a lot. The evening guy was unclogging sinks, delivering requests and checking people in. We waited a long time to get checked in. It's because the guy was running it solo. Super nice!

Very solid option, especially if you are looking for a comfortable stay between Chicago and Detroit. We arrived for the night without a reservation but the staff was very attentive and processed our booking quickly and efficiently. The room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was solid with a decent number of options. I would stay here again if I were driving the same itinerary or even visiting Indiana Dunes.
