Fairfield Inn & Suites Natchitoches - Featured Reviews (330)
Positive: Staff was very nice Negative: I had a rough stay. No Tv, No pool access, elevators were not working, maintenance was coming in and out of my room for other repairs. Bathroom had a sour smell. But I understand it was unforeseen circumstances hopefully it will be better next time!
Seems to be a good place with potential, but looks can be deceiving. Not bad if you overlook the elevators don't work and the pool was out of service, and no tvs. No discount offered either and the hallways were extremely hot. A little tough to get in and out of because of road construction as they are adding a round about, but not the hotels fault. There is a convenience store in front but many eating establishments in the immediate area. Breakfast was decent, but not great. Marriott, you can do much better. We should have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, it would have been a much better experience .
Fairfield Inn & Suites Natchitoches is a decent hotel. Rooms are a bit tattered (e.g., patches on walls in room, rooms without TVs) and the elevator wasn't working, forcing my disabled elderly father to climb a floor of stairs.
Staff was exceptional though, very much on their game.
Lots of food choices within walking distance.
Free breakfast.
Very good value!
This is the second time we've stayed here. The bed has 8" of mattress and then no box spring. Or any cushion. Way to hard. The Breakfast was Horrible. No waffles or anything else that you should have there. No sweet rolls or anything to get you interested in it. Coffee is way too strong. I like good Coffee. Not the cheap stuff. The location was off the chain. That's the best part. Oh they didn't have much on TV channels to watch. When you wanted to relax.
This Fairfield was one of my favorite hotels. Sadly, I won't be staying at this location again. The staff I encountered were all very nice and accommodating.
The hotel is not being maintained. I noted right away that the shrubbery outside needed to be trimmed. The rug in the dining room was dirty. The white grout in the bathroom shower had dark areas. The drapery was in need of repairs. The telephone in the room did not work.
My husband complains of the quality of the breakfast offered. The Fairfield once had the best breakfast of any of the hotels. But after the Covid pandemic, they are no longer head and shoulders above the competition. Their breakfast is on par with the industry.
I really like this hotel and hope management improves on the maintenance of the facility.
The bathroom was horrible. The light over the sink was out, which made the bathroom dark. There was mold on the ceiling above the shower. There were rust spots in many places (around the entire door, vent and light fixtures). The shower door didn’t close all the way, so it caused water to get onto the floor. The soap dispensers for the shower were on the floor of the shower instead of on the wall of the shower. Just a horrible experience, definitely won’t be back. And the bed seemed unleveled, it felt like a lot of blankets just pushed under the sheet or something. Didn’t sleep comfortably. I stayed here on July 24, 2024 and checked out the next morning.
The hotel was clean but the housekeeping services were non existent. We stayed for four nights. Each morning we would leave to visit family. When we came back to the hotel, we had to empty our trash in the hall bins, go downstairs for shower gel, toilet tissue, towels and coffee supplies. This happened two nights and I asked to speak with the hotel manager. I was advised he was out of town so I asked to speak with the housekeeping manager…. They never called as requested . This told me that the sense of caring or lack there of, trickled down from the top. If I were the manager I would appreciate knowing. SMH||ALSO|Plug near the coffee maker was nonfunctional. Shower backed up with water when we took a shower. Small refrigerator was leaking water into the carpet…..
This was not the worst experience I've ever had, but it definitely was not worth the total price paid. The staff was nice and friendly, however there was also an obvious staffing shortage. I'm not sure if this was due to the holiday weekend or if they are truly short. The outside of the hotel and the common areas were clean and nice, but that's where it stops. When we arrived in our room it was not what you would expect from a Marriott brand. The bathroom was poorly cleaned. There was hair in the shower and the shower floor was dirty. We had to use our body wash as hand soap whenever we used the restroom. The towels had several stains and spots. We also found a sleep mask and trash left behind from the previous guest. We stayed from Saturday, May 25th until Tuesday, May 28th, and housekeeping did not come to our room not ONE time. We had to request fresh towels daily, and we also had to request toilet paper on Monday (mind you there was only my husband and myself). When I told the young lady at the desk that no one had been to clean the room she seemed shocked, but said ok and just gave me toilet paper and went back to looking at whatever she was watching online. Sunday morning when we went down from breakfast apparently we were not the only ones to have this problem as almost every guest in the breakfast area complained about their rooms not being cleaned. Sunday was the only day that I even saw housekeeping on the 2nd floor, but they still never made it to our room. The bed was not the most comfortable and you could feel the springs in the mattress that was sitting on cardboard. On Sunday night we were sitting outside and saw one of the housekeeping ladies who drives a brown Jeep, come back up to the hotel and drive recklessly through the parking lot before finally stopping and getting in the pool with her kids being loud for most of the night. The young lady who was working the front desk on Sunday and Tuesday morning (didn't catch her name but the one with the short wavy hair not the one with the braids) she was more interested in trying to eat breakfast before it was all put up instead of assisting the guest. We were traveling from Dallas and on Tuesday morning we saw the storms in East Texas and Shreveport which was the direct route we had to take. We asked for a late checkout, like an hour, so that we could determine if we were going to extend our stay one more night or if it would clear up enough for us to drive home. She rudely told us that she was not allowed to offer late checkouts in any circumstance. This was all before the manager finally showed up on Tuesday. Once he arrived it was obvious that when the lady serving breakfast on Sunday told us that he didn't know what was going on that weekend she wasn't lying. There was a whole new set of staff and there was a lot more cleaning going on. The manager was very nice and friendly, but by the time we saw him we had already determined that we were going to leave and we had no time to recap all the troubles of the weekend. We visit Natchitoches at least once a year and decided to give Fairfield a try because we are Marriott members, but going forward we will stick to our usual spot the Comfort Suites who they share a parking lot with. Much nicer, cleaner, and better service, food, rooms, and décor.

Loved our stay! It checked all the things that are important to me: central location, gated parking, clean room, friendly staff and beautiful decor. Will definitely stay here again.
This Motel was fantastically nice. I've stayed at a lot of different motels and I rank it 100% GREAT. We went to see the lights and do some shopping.
This motel is quite, great breakfast, comfortable bed and a separate area with a couch, coffee tab
Nice clean hotel, they have a nice continental breakfast the pool wasn't open yet when we stayed there everyone was friendly and helpful. There is a lot of places around for food. It is right off of the freeway and the parking lot is nice, the photos
The stay here was excellent! Rooms were very comfortable and clean and Kelly (the innkeeper) made our stay much more enjoyable. She greeted us every morning with a smile and portrayed a very pleasant atmosphere.
