Fairfield Inn & Suites Fort Worth University Drive - Hotel in Fort Worth - 1505 S University Dr, USA

Room smelled like coffee when we first entered. Took a while to realize it was coffee grounds we were finding in the bed, likely being carried from our feet into the bed. The room could use a good vacuuming or shampooing. Great water pressure on the shower, so that was nice. Very helpful front desk staff. Had to make a couple changes to our reservation and answer a couple questions which they were able to do. Had to ask a couple times for housekeeping to come clean up the room and refresh the towels, but overall very helpful and kind. Breakfast had nice options. A little granola bar, build your own waffle, and some spinach quiche were a good switch from the norm. Keep that up :)

We were greeted by Jamie and he was very personable. When I walked in he was on the phone with a difficult customer and he handled it very well. The room was comfortable, the pillows were soft but were kind of flat. I went to the front desk to ask for a couple of extra pillows. Jamie has exceptional customer service and brought them to our room. We were surprised the breakfast had a great selection. Kadedrea ( hopefully I spelled her name correctly 😳) was very sweet and did a great job keeping everything well stocked. They had,Scrambled eggs, quiche, boiled eggs, red potatoes, bacon, waffles, cereal, oatmeal (with lots of topping options), and bagels. The hotel also is in a great and safe location, we will definitely stay here again when we come to Ft. Worth.

After I booked this property, I was a little nervous about staying here based on some of the recent bad reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. My husband and I were in the area for the golf tournament at Colonial Country Club and a trip to the zoo. The hotel is conveniently located nearby. Yes, the hotel appears to be an older property, but our room was clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable, the shower had excellent water pressure, the room had a working mini-fridge and microwave oven. Breakfast in the morning had a variety of options including, eggs, egg white omelette, sausage, cereal, muffins, etc. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I did not use the pool or fitness room so I can't vouch for the working order of either. But I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

We had several issues with the Fairfield. - More than half the time we went to the desk or called down to the desk, there was no one there. (More on that below.) - Our room was supposed to be fit for four people, but it only came with three sets of towels. We noticed it late and needed to wait until the morning to grab them. - The elevator was extremely janky. It had a very concerning shake or stall every time we rode it. - The pool was open!! But they only had one pool towel available for all the guests who were swimming. I went to the desk to ask for more pool towels, but no one was there again. - The room got really hot at night, and I was sleeping right next to the A/C. You might want to bring your own bedside fan. - The TV would refuse to work for us. None of the remote buttons nor the side of the TV buttons worked for us except the power button. The TV was stuck on the Welcome to Marriott channel. We couldn’t even use an HDMI cable to watch something from our laptop. We tried resetting the box as they instructed us from the desk, and they came up and tried to fix it, too. They got us to the channel guide, but the HDMI still didn’t work, and when we turned off the TV, the channel guide stopped working 🙈 the person downstairs the next morning said it was an issue throughout the hotel and that they were trying to resolve the issue. - This might seem like a small issue but it could have become a huge issue for us. The hotel door (or at least ours) doesn’t necessarily close behind you all the way but stays just barely ajar. Time after time we would walk into or out of the room only for the door to be left partially open behind us—my son had to run back and press it (or pull it) the rest of the way in to close & therefore lock it. Just be careful when you enter & exit your room so that you and your belongings are safe. + The shower water pressure & temperature were surprisingly good!! 🚿 + The distance to the Fort Worth Zoo and museums was really nice. We also had several food options nearby. o Parking was available near the entrance for us, but the parking lot itself was a little sketchy. If you can’t park right up near the entrance, you might want to find a lighted place to park nearby. As many issues as we had, the woman at the desk was doing her very best to try to fix the issues and make them right. It just seemed like problem after problem with the building, unfortunately.. and perhaps she should not have been the only person working the desk on a busy Friday night to help alleviate all the issues I’m sure other guests were having.

I checked in twice here last week while attending a nearby workshop. On both occasions, check-in could’ve gone smoother - some of that had to do with how the reservation was made on my end. The first time, the woman just told me that there was no reservation for me. That was it, and for her that was all there was to it. The bureaucrats at your local DMV are better at customer service. I only got my room because I went through my satchel and found where I had printed off my reservation. The second time, Horace was at the counter. He also told me he couldn’t find a reservation for me, but offered to go through all of his paperwork to help find mine - he was trying to save me a trip out to the car. His attitude was more like, “We’re going to get to the bottom of this so you can check in and enjoy your stay.” He found my reservation, and when he noticed why we weren’t finding it at first, cleared up some of the confusion for me. When I mentioned that I wanted to get to bed early so I could get up in the morning and work out, Horace took the time to show me the gym there. He kept his humor at all times, and was both friendly and welcoming. As for the hotel, I had a quiet, relaxing stay. Not once was I awoken by my neighbors. Now, the place could use some upgrades. Better ventilation in the bathroom would be nice. A new paint job would do the place a lot of good. And then there is even one part in my room where the floor was uneven. But the place does the job. And I even had a pretty good workout at 4:30 in the morning. I’d stay there again.

The room we stayed in was nice the air mattress was a little uncomfortable a little springy. The refrigerator did not work. Overall a good stay I would stay here again. (The ice cream is also out)

I canceled the room and was still charged for it. They will not refund me even after speaking with them that I had a medical emergency. Do not care that I'm a Marriott employee. Will not recommend this hotel.

We traveled to Fort Worth for a wedding. Unfortunately this hotel was a disappointment. The floors in our room on the second floor were very sloped, the tiles in bathroom were cracked both on the floor and in the shower, grout missing and the bathroom smelled quite heavily of mold. Some staff was very friendly, others not at all. Elevator had a bad smell and the indoor pool was closed due to an issue. For the money I think we could have done better.
