I've stayed here several times over the years and this has become my goto hotel. I'm a Marriott loyalist because I know what I'm getting. And the quality is consistent across the each brand. This hotel is conveniently located on route 29 and very close to downtown. My room was spacious and well stocked. It's a little dated, but I would stay here again on vacationing and don't have a problem recommending someone staying here. Understand this is a Fairfield Inn, so you should be familiar with the brand offers if you want high end. This isn't a luxury hotel, but definitely not the slums either. Breakfast was included and the food served was fresh. There's plenty of parking and the hotel is ADA accessible. There's an indoor pool and also a gym. However, if you're a gym buff, the gym is less than basic and you won't get a well rounded workout if you are staying here for several weeks.

Several reasons why we were disappointed. First and foremost, their billing. We extended our stay by another night. They charged our credit card $160.00, then $140.00 and then $60.00. This was not what was posted on their Marriott app. We called initially to make reservations because we wanted to be on the ground floor and we were also traveling with a service animal. No problem, we reconfirmed the service animal upon check-in and had no issues. With their unauthorized charges on our credit card, I questioned the front desk the night before we left. Seemed like they snuck in a $75.00 charge for our service animal (yorkie) the lady at the front desk supposedly handled it and credited our account. Next morning I received an email with the updated billing information and the numbers didn’t add up. Checked my credit card and still had those 3 charges listed as pending. Questioned the front desk again and told her I spoke to a lady the night before and one of the issues was the $75 pet fee. This woman behind the desk was absolutely clueless and told me she would look into it. So I check out and the issue has not been resolved. So I figured instead of dealing with this unprofessional woman, I decided to email the manager which by the way he never responded. He was not there so I couldn’t speak to him, must be really busy lol. So those 3 charges remained for days on my credit card as pending not adding up to what the Marriott app advertised. The room was the size of a cruise ship room, tiny. It had a pleasant odor at first but the next day stunk. The sink was clogged but they fixed it. The food at breakfast time was horrible and inedible considering it was a Marriott. Coffee was not good but we liked the hot water because we were able to make tea whenever we wanted. In summary, we’ve not been at a Marriott property in about 7 years but we’re still members so we decided to try it. We preferred Airbnb because you get more value for your money and a lot more room. Billing is never an issue because you know what you’re paying for. Best western is also one of our favorites and we travel probably 6 times a year with them never having to deal with billing issues. We are DONE with any Marriott properties !

This is a decent hotel at a good price. Within Charlottesville, the location is great and you have every option of dining and shopping nearby. There was good coffee and flavored creamer. They also had Udi’s gluten free muffins at breakfast. Score! Front desk staff were very nice.||On the downside, the room was very small for a family of four. The TV did not have Netflix or a guide. The water pressure was not great.||The bigger concern for me was that the hotel was set way off the street to drive in. It was near a restaurant being renovated and a grocery store right next door. It would not be a place I would want to come and go from alone.

Friendly staff, clean hotel, good standard hot breakfast (waffles, scrambled eggs, cereals, etc). I also liked that they had non-pork sausage on a couple of days. Our room bathroom was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Very close to UVA. Rooms are clean and very nice. Plenty of towels. And the front desks are very friendly... The breakfast was very good and plenty to choose from. Affordable rates and we'll be back if I find it the same next time we needed to go to Charlottesville. And their check out time is noon

What a horrible experience! The Marriott folks need to do a complete overhaul here! Couldn’t leave fast enough!|Arrived with my service dog and unbeknownst to me, front staff deemed me a liar and charged me a pet fee behind my back. I called to discuss with the manager a Ahmad Ashikira?, was very rude and decided to tac on a deep cleaning of the carpet. Question; are companies allowed to charge you for a made up story just because you call and question their policy and ethics? Anyway when I called him a liar for saying my dog messed the carpet, he said I couldn’t talk to him like that and hung up on me for the second time. Then charged my credit card on file after the fact!|Why do I have a feeling that I’m not the only person with a service dog that they’ve done this to? I’m waiting to see if they do the right thing before I contact the ADA.|By the way, while I had to wait for an hour past my check in time for my room to finally be ready,I had to listen to the front desk staff tell about the situation with a man with a gun who she confronted. The other employees thanked her for removing the gunman and keeping them safe. Troubled that they didn’t call the law and that this establishment was becoming seedier by the minute. I contemplated calling the night off. I really wished that I had. All I wanted was to enjoy and explore a town I’ve never been to. Instead I’ve had to get so stressed out, make numerous phone calls and emails. Get lied to and treated like garbage by this front desk staff and managers ( whose Carlton Semmons by the way?|So just beware. Not the nicest hotel, not the nicest area, and definitely not upstanding employees working there!|Please, please report if you have a service dog and was given grief or unfairly charged. Because the ADA needs to be told! Thank you!

Positive: It?s close to everything. Staff was great. Room was perfect. Negative: Bathroom fan whistled a little. But it did stop. Slight annoyance. All else was perdwct

The rooms and location were great, those are the only things I liked about this hotel. But if you are traveling with a service dog, PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. I arrived with my service dog on August 17th, and the check in service was wonderful. Front desk staff was very kind to me and my dog checking in. The following morning on August 18th is a completely different story. I was kicked out of the breakfast seating area with my service dog and they claimed he could not eat breakfast with me there because he was a dog and people were around, but I was more than welcome to eat my breakfast in the hotel lobby. I tried to fight them on it because what they were claiming was illegal and my service dog and I had every right to sit in the breakfast seating area with every other guest, but a rude staff member named "Ahmed" claimed that the ADA allows them to refuse me seating there with my service dog and there was nothing he could do about it. I have already opened an investigation with Marriott and contacted my service dog company, most likely going to contact ADA next. This hotel completely violated my rights, and I would absolutely never recommend it to anyone, especially considering how uneducated and rude their staff are.
