Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge - Lodge in Fairbanks - 4477 Pikes Landing Rd, USA

We stayed here for three nights as part of a cruise tour through princess cruises. It's an older lodge, but it was pretty clean. Beds were comfortable. I was very disappointed that there was no complimentary coffee at any time for the guests. You had to buy it in the gift shop. It was good coffee, but I've never stayed in a hotel that did not have complimentary coffee in the lobby pretty much at all times. The staff was very nice and helpful so no issues there. Unless you walk into town, which is about 2 miles away, or you take the shuttle that you have to pay for, or get an Uber or a taxi, your options for food are only right there at the hotel, and they are not cheap. An hourly hotel shuttle would have been extremely helpful. It's a nice place to stay, and the price per night was not bad, but unless you have your own car your options are very slim for getting around.

We stayed for two nights before starting our 2 weeks Alaska vacation by car. The front desk check-in staff were extremely nice considering it was 2am. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. We didn't eat at the restaurants on site so can't review them. We would stay here again.

We spent 2 nights here. Arrived 10pm first night. We are on a Priness cruise tour, 10 land and 7 sea days. We thought the breakfasts were great. Lots of berries, hot food on the buffet were Ok . The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was on the river with a nice view. This was the start of our Cruise Tour. The hotel was OK , nothing great not thing bad. Our Princess excursions the next day Riverboat were great. We were not here for the Hotel but fir Alaska. ||

We booked a Princess Cruise Tour and the Fairbanks Lodge was our first stop. Our room (1200) was large with a love seat, tv cabinet with three drawers, a settee bench, king size bed, desk and chair. The bathroom was small, and it was evident that this lodge had been around a while. The water pressure in the shower was poor. The room was air conditioned. There were places in the room that could have used a bit of dusting, but it wasn't a big deal to us. Our room overlooked a walkway and the river. There is a nice bar and restaurant overlooking the river. The food and drinks were good. They have awesome salads and the cod sandwich was very good! They could have used some music at the outside bar as there was no atmosphere at all. The front desk provided distilled water for CPAP machines upon request. We stayed at the hotel three nights and the vending machine, outside our room was mostly empty when we arrived, and it was still that way when we checked out. There is a concierge desk to help you plan any activities and we found the ladies working at the desk very friendly and helpful. There is a shuttle bus that will take you into town for $10.00 per person. I would rank the Fairbanks lodge as four out of the four we visited, with number one being the best. |

Our room had not been cleaned or bed made on our 2nd day, we reported this to front desk, we were told we were not priority, they had to get the incoming guests into their rooms. By 10.00pm our room still had not been serviced or bed made, we had to make our own bed. Dining room wait staff took orders but when the food we ordered was not available they didn't tell us, just brought us something else. Very poor service. The staff didn't seem to care about us or their jobs. Would not recommend this hotel/lodge to anyone for that price.

Our room appears to be renovated since it was very much like a Fairfield or HI Express. It was clean, granite top furniture and bathroom, comfy beds. Didn’t use Restaurant since it looked like slow service with all the cruisers here. Tip: you can walk to end of the building and find a nice gravel walking trail through trees and get to Pikes Landing restaurant in 5 minutes. Nice food and multiple sports TVs.

Stayed there for 2 nights because we were with Princess land tour. By Princess standard this wasn’t good at all. The small reception lobby was always packed with people loitering around waiting either for their tour buses or to be checked in or out. Room is really 2 star standard. Besides towels, nothing is provided. The two restaurants have very similar menu which doesn’t say much for the chef’s culinary repertoire. I thought the lodge next door was better.

Service was outstanding. Check in was quick and the front desk was very friendly, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the A/C worked. Ate at the bar and grill food was served with a smile and the hostess was very attentive and made sure we had a great dinner.
