If you are looking for a poor value hotel that has dusty vents and moldy bathrooms, and not quite accessible rooms, with rude and unhelpful front desk staff, and for your stay to be disturbed, look no further. Unfortunately we were too exhausted and did not take photos of the room itself but the other reviews should tell you everything. Our experience: We arrived at the hotel at 2pm for check in. Check in was at 3pm, which is standard and understandable. We were asked by the front desk Caucasian male with a beard (Nick? for identification purposes) to just wait in the lobby. We respected this, as rules are rules. Our stay was only for one night (July 7) but we had two rooms. While we didn't need it, both rooms were touted as accessible rooms but only one of them had a wheelchair accessible shower. Just an FYI for those folks who would need this. The public garbage was overflowing outside our room. Even though I knew this wasn't going to be a 5-star establishment and wasn't expecting anything beyond the basics - I noticed heavy dust settling in the vents so I assume they haven't been cleaned for years. Reading the other reviews it seems like they already know about this and never cared to fix it. The bathtub had been so worn down that it was discoloured and textured. The grout has black mold as well. The shower head was calcified and dirty, and water pressure was weak. When I first turned the tub faucet on I was met with the smell of sewage. The toilet was also not spotless - I will leave that as is. There were many indications that the floor was not cleaned properly either. Once again I don't expect fancy or updated amenities just regular sanitation. All of this I would have gently overlooked, as we were staying only for one night, however this incident happened: The hotel has a clear plaque out front that states that checkout is at 11am and check in, as previously noted, 3pm. Around 9:45 am the hotel staff started calling my partner's room, despite our checkout in a few hours. The phone in my room did not ring. around 10:03 am I get a knock on my door. It was the same front desk staff who had denied our early check in the prior day. I opened the door and the explanation was "you did not pick up your phone so we wanted to check". I closed the door as I was packing and changing to leave. My partner also experienced the same situation, the phone did ring but he was 1 second late to pick it up. When we vacated our room at 10:45 am, there was already another reasonably angry guest at the front desk. She was also frustrated that we were all disturbed before our designated check out time of 11am. The same front desk employee explained that "we call the rooms to check if the guests are still around so housekeeping can get started early". Dearest management, please explain how housekeeping needing early access to rooms is a part of the current guests' issues and responsibility? It's not even like the housekeeping did much if we are going to be using that excuse. From what I recall, I heard clear noises outside my room of guests who were checking out at 6am and at 8am, so how come those vacated room numbers could not be communicated to housekeeping? If we were expected to check in at 3pm onwards (see above), it is hypocritical to disturb guests before the 11am checkout, at which point we are still paying guests of the hotel. Rules are rules, is it not? I cannot imagine if you were actually a guest staying for a longer time, with no need for housekeeping, being disturbed every day for no reason. Considering the shoddy housekeeping job, I'm wondering if our room was ready prior to 3pm as well and Nick just kept us at the lobby for fun. Nick at the front desk also said sarcastically in response to us complaining about the 9:45 am call "I'm sorry I wasted an extra 5 minutes of your life." Which was dismissive and incorrect (since it was 1 hour and 45 minutes before checkout) either way 0/10 don't do it. I would stay away from other hotels under this brand as well going forward.

I booked a room on 5/23/2024 up to 5/25/2024. Let start with online accounts that I wasn’t able to have access or see my up coming activity (reservation). Online accounts need improvement and receptionist couldn’t see my reservations which I had done directly through Extend Stay Hotel. Good thing I had an email showing proof of advance payment and booking because they would have charge me twice. Reason for my stay was for a funeral service. My family and I travel 6 hours from Modesto, CA to come to Whittier, CA . I booked my stay in Brea, CA. Upon arrival, We found a lot of discrepancies in the room 227. -Damage bathroom door -bathroom sink clogged -bathtub drain clogged and out dated -shower head clogged and spraying water everywhere -shower handle doesn’t shut off the water properly so there is a leak -shelves rack in living space falling down and missing the part of the rack -AC unit not clean and filter backed up -dust all over the room and floor dirty and it seems like they don’t change the mop water out because it had a bad smell of dirty mop/water Summary: -I clean the clogged bathroom sink by disassembling the pipe to pull out a bunch of hair. -I clean the shower head by disassembling it and trying to clean it. -Caulk from the tub was peeling off and it had black mold on it -We cleaned all surface areas with sanitizing wipes and looked like it wasn’t cleaned before our arrival -Floors partially cleaned with sanitizing wipes -Cleaned the AC unit filter with my hands because animals fur, hair and dust from a long time was gunk up on the filter. -bathroom vent needs cleaning -Room is unfit for public health We had reported to both receptionists about the discrepancies found but they said they were going to have it fixed the next day because they needed to call the maintenance person to come and fix it. We were going to go out that day and asked if they could fix it while we were out but the only thing they did was to write a ticket to report it and said they were going to check if the maintenance person was around to him come by the room. We left and after a long day when we came back we thought the deficiencies were corrected, to our surprise nothing had been done and no note had been left to explain as to why. My wife called the front desk to communicate and make sure things were addressed however the receptionist on duty didn’t know anything about the report we made in the morning before leaving so she offered to write another ticket and have the maintenance person come by the following day. After seeing my wife frustrated I took the initiative to check and clean the shower head and the bathroom sink drain to make it a little pleasant to shower after a long day, then I called the front desk and told them that I cleaned most the problems they only said “oh that’s so kind of you and we will let the manager know.” The following day maintenance guy showed up to my door in the afternoon time frame and said “hi, I am the maintenance guy here to take a look at the problem in the room” I told him that I have already fixed most of the problems and he said “oh that was easy and thanks for making my day easy” and walked away. Overall my family and I didn’t have any options but to stay there for the duration of our visit. We looked into other hotels but unfortunately they were either booked or were not pet friendly. It’s a shame that other people don’t clean up after their pets or don’t take care of the property and let their pets run wild ruining it for the families that train their dogs and do everything right. Note: I have pictures which I am going to post on review with same notes. The pictures shown by the business do not correlate with the actual rooms, it looks more like false advertisement.

Update : Within HOURS after answering the company survey they kept emailing me asking about my stay and leaving this review I received a notice on my door. (pic attached) This is how this place shows you their "sincerest appreciation". The front desk called me and asked in a rude tone what my problem was. Really? As if they did not see what I wrote and I'm sure nobody even bothered to put any service requests or notes in the system anytime I asked for help. I paid for a full month at check in. I was given a reservation for 60 days straight. Nowhere on your company website did it mention anything about this 21 day thing nor did anyone say this to me at check in. Now this is given to me on the 18th when the policy was enacted on the 1st the day before I checked in so there is no excuse for not making me aware sooner. Unbelievable I checked in over 3 weeks and since then, I have not received any housekeeping services or toilet paper. My room has been devoid of new sheets or towels, with no vacuuming or sweeping for almost three weeks. Despite multiple requests, no assistance was provided. The room lacks cleanliness, and I was provided with only two cooking pans, without any dishes or utensils, rendering me unable to cook. The microwave is malfunctioning, the room phone is inoperative, and the television is not working. I have encountered a roach/water bug in my room. Due to my need for a handicap accessible shower, I cannot change rooms. The cost of $1900/month (and that was what I paid with the summer discount, approx $3,000/mo now) is unjustifiable under these conditions. Additionally, I have not been informed of the rate for an extended stay. The office frequently runs out of linens. In the laundry room, washing machine #3 is out of order without any notice, and my request for a refund was denied. The dryer, costing $3 for 60 minutes, fails to fully dry clothes, yet no refund or credit was offered for another cycle. The front desk is aware of the non-functional room phone, and although they promised to send someone to repair both the phone and microwave, no one has addressed these issues. This extreme lack of customer service and the false advertising of services and amenities are unacceptable. The WIFI has also been consistently unreliable. I will not be patronizing this company again. This experience has been thoroughly unacceptable, and I would have left if my financial situation permitted it.

This place was a dump. Left after one night (instead of two) and would have been sooner had I not arrived late (9pm). Had to wait 20 min for someone to show up in the lobby just to check us in. Found the room old and worn out with little done to maintain or upgrade its appearance or condition. Chipping paint, cracks in the walls and cabinets, old fixtures, terrible fluorescent lighting, found a hair on the bed under the pillow, just gross. The place is pet friendly, so I guess that’s a plus if you like to travel with animals. For me, it just means a dog probably urinated (or worse) in your room recently. The beds themselves were tiny “full size” beds, barely larger than a twin size mattress. The floors were not carpeted and had several damaged floor tiles that were a hazard to bare feet (see photos). Zero amenities beyond two disposable cups. Supposedly you can ask for dishes and silverware and other things you would expect at an extended stay hotel but I didn’t stick around long enough to find out. No coffee maker or hair dryer in the room. The bathroom was the final straw. Toilet seat was barely attached to the bowl. And the bathtub looked like it had only been cleaned by the feet of previous guests (see photos). I could go on and on but you get the picture. It’s a sad, sad motel with little going for it beyond the fact that I didn’t see any roaches. Oh yea, and the entry door handle busted as we walked out to go check out early. An appropriate end to our miserable stay. I wouldn’t go back nor would I recommend it.

Nice quiet locatio. Stores (Albertsons, Walmart, Stater Brothers) are within walking distance. Pet friendly. Also has an elevator which is awesome for someone like me that uses a mobility scooter.

Positive: The location was really good Negative: I didn't realize this was a hotel used for low income families to live out of. One night there were 5 cops on the property because one of the residents was on parole and the cops were there to check on the individual. No breakfast other than a muffin.

Extended stay Brea is a mess! There is constantly trash in the walking corridors piped up. They have people double parking and when informing the staff their response, all 3 of them, was to laugh and they said"just key it" and more laughing, they rarely have the breakfast items out that are supposed to come with the stay, and when you ask for more of any empty stuff they say sorry we only have what's out right now for the day.. which is rarely anything.. The coffee had a bunch of stuff other than grinds in it.. I have been here a week and requested a pan every day to cook with...STILL NO PAN... I got a pot though where the bottom is peeling off in flakes, you don't want to eat those flakes lol.. this place is a joke.. and should be your very last option..Their employees have a high school mentality and demeanor, their customer service if you want to call it that is not there at all..

Positive: Clean bed & sheets, slept well. A/C very cold, worked great. To go breakfast free, cable TV, full frig. Negative: Trash was overflowing in all locations that had trash cans at complex including all locations on 3rd floor for multiple days. Peeling paint inside tub, hole/damaged drywall in bathroom. Chair in kitchen had 6 + inch tear in seat.
