Extended Stay America - Indianapolis - Airport - W. Southern Ave. - Featured Reviews (912)
I will never stay at this property again! The chain advertises a full kitchen. There is a sign in the room listing the packages of dishes that are supposed to be available to you. NOTHING is available. Not dish soap, paper towels, Kleenex, silverware, pots, pans, plates, or bowls. I guess I was lucky to have toilet paper. The water pressure was barely there. It took a LONG time of holding the lever to get the pressure enough for the shower. Don’t expect towels or wash cloths either. I was given two bath towels, one wash cloth, and two hand towels for my 3 night stay. The refrigerator made such a loud clunky noise that it startled me awake every night. The front desk attendant offered me a new room when I complained of the refrigerator noise but I had only one night left to stay. I asked every day for dishes and pots and pans. On the 2nd to last night I was given about a tablespoon worth of dish soap in a paper cup and a dish cloth. At least I could wash the dishes I packed my lunches in. Extended Stay America should be ashamed of the false advertising of full kitchen amenities. Yes, you have a refrigerator(however loud it is), a 2 burner stove (with no pots and pans to cook on it) and a microwave.
Unfortunately, I am staying at another of your properties coming up and I called them. I was told that there are dishes, and pots and pans for sale, not for me to just use. I will be bringing my own stuff but am not happy that I’m paying for an amenity that is not actually provided.
My friend and I stayed here one night and it wasn't the best, first had to wait in breakfast room for like 15 minutes to check in, the room wasn't the cleanliest you could tell our room wasn't cleaned in a minute from the dust. The bed had a maggot on it, had a two bed so just slept on the better one. You can definitely tell from inside that some things needed renovating or just replacing from the ceiling crumbling to the stove top looking old as ever. Then outside in parking lot was a red SUV like someone was living out there car and was crowd around it and first thought that came to my mind was if they were selling or using so obviously I stayed away from that side of the building. Just be careful when you go, safe travels
Grimy, icky. We wouldn't walk barefoot on the floors. Stove light nor fan worked. Sofa is too icky to sit on. The grab-n-go breakfast items are out until next week-no discount, either. We were told that the pool hasn't been functional for a very long time. Tomato sauce splashed on fridge side, fridge handles grimy. A/C worked great. Space for everything, but couldn't touch anything. Bed was clean & comfortable. Front Desk staff were really nice & as helpful as possible.
We got bumped to a room with smaller beds due to our initial room having an apparent broken bathtub. The second room's pullout couch didn't have a mattress, so the cushions were just falling down in the frame to the point you couldn't sit on the couch. The smoke detector was hanging from the wall by the wires. A window was cracked. The sitting chair was ripped extensively. The computer chairs had very questionable stains... Despite the strong smell of Fabuloso, the floors were dirty and sticky. Also, for a place called "Extended Stay," there were no cups, plates, utensils, or pots or anything else one would need to stay at a place for an extended amount of time. Finally, in the morning I lathered up my face to shave just in time for a pipe to burst, leaving me with no choice but to drive to a gas station and buy water to finish shaving. That was a better deal than the $3 bottles of water in the vending machine downstairs. $150 a night for a place that looks worse than places that charge less than half that a night.
Driving cross country from South Carolina to Iowa for a funeral, we stopped for a few hours sleep before continuing on early the next morning. Our room was horrible, and obviously not prepared for guests. While the bed seemed to be freshly made, everything else was unacceptable. The room was musty and smelled of stale smoke. (I had a headache the next morning.) The most obvious problem was the bathroom, with large patches of peeled paint torn off the tile and the tub itself. (I have atached photos of the tub/shower below.) There was only one bath towel and one wash cloth in the room, and they were just lying on the counter, as if they had been left there by previous guests. Fortunately, I had some hand sanitizer and wiped down the sink, counter and toilet. We kept our shoes on because we didn't want to walk on the floor with our bare feet. The kitchen was completely bare. Not that we were planning to use the kitchen, but had we intended to, all the cabinets were empty: no utensils, dishes, towels, detergent, etc., all the things you expect a room with a kitchen to come equipped with.||The ONLY reason we didn't walk back out and ask for our money back was because it was very late, we had just driven more than 600 miles and were exhausted. Since it appeared the sheets, at least, were clean, we decided to try to get some sleep. We slept for a few hours and then got out of there as quickly as we could. We couldn't wait to get to the next hotel in Iowa so we could shower. ||As bad as this room was, I can't believe that it was ever intended to be sold to a guest. Surely, it was on some list to be repaired, because I can't imagine any reputable company wanting this to be the face of what a well-known hotel chain would want to portray to the public. ||We will never choose Extended Stay America again.
Positive: The hotel was convenient to the highway and easy to get on and off when passing through town. The hotel staff was friendly and as accommodating as they could be with the resources they had. Negative: Maybe this hotel is in the middle of a renovation but We definitely did not have a renovated room. No garbage can, two towels for six people, no hot water, a super dirty floor and a badly stained pull out couch mattress with no bedding. Yikes!
When I called to reserve the room I was told and was sent confirmation for a room with two beds and a sleeper sofa. When we arrived we saw that there was in fact no sofa bed so there were 6 of us with no place to sleep for 2 people. I should have known than to stay here because it’s the freaking extended stay, I have never seen a well kept location and do not get me started on the hotel front desk staff. The lady that I spoke with was of no use at all and her answer for my issue was that “once a sofa breaks the company will not replace it”. Scamming people into paying for something that is the opposite of what they will be getting is unethical. Aside from the lying and horrible staff that was away from the desk more than they were there, the room itself smelled stale and of smoke even though we paid for and were told it was a non smoking room. The tub looked like it had not been cleaned in months and was peeling, the towels and bed sheets were dingy and smelled horrible. Bring your own sheets/towels like we did if you do decide to come here but I encourage you to spend the extra money and go somewhere where you’re not being lied to and scammed. I highly discourage you from booking here even for one night. I do not think the price I paid was worth it and did not reflect my experience. I do not expect to receive a refund or for anyone to actually do anything about my experience but please note that you are getting what you pay for here. Cheap does not equal a good experience.
Positive: The hotel had the means to be set up for an excellent experience but there were a lot of things that needed to be fixed. When I arrived, I was meeting a new manager that was given the job after the previous manager pretty much let the hotel fall apart. Negative: Much upgrading and renovations needed to be done to several rooms. I was given the choice to look at 8 rooms which were listed as available and ready, however the rooms had broken sofa beds, needed new tubs, old A/C units, and old stoves.
