Haven't made it to the hotel but when I do pictures and updates will be posted and the stars will be updated
So far I'm not too impressed. It's kind of hard to call and let y'all know that it's gonna be late when we get there if your phone is constantly busy. I've tried calling multiple times since 11 am.
Now if the phones are down because the hurricane, I will update this will a apology.
*** UPDATE ***
I forgot to put an update on here life's been busy
First off I do apologize about talking about not being able to get a hold of them. The phone lines were all screwy because of the hurricane.
Area - not the greatest place for a person to be ... When we pulled in the cops were there, not one, not two, but three cops.... There was trash everywhere outside.
The sign was spray painted over, the door
Looked like it seen better days and the smoke alarm was disabled.
The first floor was closed because of a water line break so there was several loud fans. Ordered one room got a different room.
The breakfast was horrible .... The cereal was stale and the butter tasted like straight plastic.
Staff was tolerable at best.... Asked for towels multiple times and finally we had to find them ourselves.
The whole stay was problematic and a major headache
Rooms were clean. AC, Fridge, Microwave, Shower, everything worked. Was worried because I booked without checking reviews and then saw the rest of the reviews and it was too late to cancel. Turns out, apart from the outside needing renovations, everything was pretty nice and clean. Quartz in the bathrooms, looks like it was just renovated. Staff was great, looks family owned. Didn’t get to stay for breakfast because I was flying out early.
This hotel was absolutely disgusting, we ended up asking for a refund and left the hotel at 2am after roaches were crawling on us while we were trying to sleep. They would only give us half a refund. The staff were rude and pretty much told us we were lying about the state of the room. Not only was the area sketchy af but the bed looked like someone died in it. There were no working fire alarms. Holes everywhere, filthy stained walls, furniture, sinks. Leaking toilet, TV didn’t work, no swimming pool. Homeless people living in the hallways. Our door would not lock and there was a very strong stench of cat pee. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs
This place needs some serious upkeep, renovations and refurbishment before I'd consider staying here again. The only thing going for it was that it was just off a freeway and in a quiet area.
I recently stayed here to see the solar eclipse and in the time that I made my reservation and the time I went to stay there, it must've changed hands because the name changed. When I went to check in, they could not find my reservation and had to call someone higher up after I showed my reservation. They were able to get me in at no extra charge, but that was a serious oversight. The staff did, however, did have housekeeping service much to my surprise.
It did not look like a nice place to stay from the outside. The parking lot needs repaving and painting. The inside of the lobby was poorly lit and parts of it smelled like smoke.
My room was clean enough with no bugs, but it was a coin toss on whether there'd be hot water or not. There was on my second night, but the rest of the time it was lukewarm at best. My toilet tank had some sort of leak which caused it to run every 15 seconds. I had to turn it off to make it stop at night.
Until they improve this place, do yourself a favor and spend a little extra money for a nicer place.
I stayed one night as I was traveling cross country and would be in another town the next night. There were renovations underway and so there was dust and things still being fixed up. The lady at the desk, who appeared to be at least part owner of what also seemed to be a family owned business was friendly, knowledgable, professional and helpful. My coffee maker and microwave needed to be plugged in and she got my tv working when I couldnt.
The dust and renovation mess disappeared as soon as I opened my room door. Very clean and well appointed room. Bathroom looked great and I got the feeling the family had gotten the hotel and were dedicated to bringing it back to a shiny new life and were counting on guests to help them succeed.
I would stay again.
Positive: That I got to leave. Negative: The staff was rude and made unauthorized charges on my account. The property is surrounded by homeless people trying to sell drugs or stolen items. There was no hot water. Zero amenities, not even an ice machine. I've been more comfortable in jail.
It was the worst ever roaches everywhere, no hot water, burn holes in throw on bed, curtains tore,it's just to much to say we got there at 1:00am long enough to take shower and leave didnt even sleep there we left at 5:00 am had the nerve to ask for a $30 deposit which we got back but there wasn't $30 worth of stuff in that room you wanted started to donate them $10 of it to buy roach bombs for that room. It really was the worst experience I have ever had.
Stay away from this motel. Rundown, trashy, need some serious maintenance. A lot of broken things around. The cleaning lady did a good job in keeping up the room’s quality. It’s convenient right off the highway, but kind of shady neighborhood.
We have stayed here many times. Staff has always been nice, and rooms are always clean. Breakfast well, what can I say, depends on who mans the kitchen.
Afrobites is in the top class of food trucks. They offer safety and excellent customer service (which is hard to find nowadays). Their hours of operation are consistent, they're menu is easy to read and order from. They bring your order on a serving
