Excelsior Public Beach - Park in Excelsior - 2 1st St, USA

Lovely, lovely place to spend a day. Great beach, lots of shops, and the scenery is spectacular! (My grandson and I sat along the shore, not on the beach in these pictures.) These pics were taken on a quiet Wednesday afternoon.

Amazing, breath taking lake front park and beach. Kids play area is awesome. Nice beautiful Lake Minnetonka views. Sunset is really eye catching from this spot. Less crowded and good for walk and enjoying the sound of the lake water.

This beach has become a bit neglected over the years. The amount of sand has decreased and the smaller beach has gotten really weedy. You used to be able to park here for a buck or two on the meters, but it is now significantly more. Bathrooms by the beach are closed (have to go over by the hall field) and there’s no foot wash anymore. Hopefully this area will get a rejuvenation like the commons did because it’s a great location.

Nice place for adults and kids. It has very good playground with gorgeous view on Lake Minnetonka.

Perfect spot to enjoy a swim and eat lunch at a picnic table.

Participated in the Lake Minnetonka Triathlon and the water is very clear for June. The lake is weedy but able to swim and have fun. Plus you might see ducklings swimming around.

Great place with a beach a park with a kids’ play area! Right next to downtown and the cruise docks. Plenty of parking nearby or downtown if you want to take the gorgeous walk by the lake. Beautiful views of the lake and Big Island. Small food carts nearby for ice cream and other treats!
