Ewa Hotel Waikiki - Hotel in Honolulu - 2555 Cartwright Rd, USA

This place is not exactly what you think. The room does look like pictures but not exactly. It is very much old and outdated, there is a bit of an old maybe molded smell. I stayed a total of 4 nights and never got any service as far as cleaning for my room. I was told that the amount of days I stayed wasn’t long enough for service, however, if I wanted extra towels I would have to get them from the front desk. I did have a problem with ants on the wall crawling onto an empty box of pizza I left on the microwave. When I informed the front desk she was able to send me to another room which I felt was better. It was a twin size bed sort of bunk bed for 4 people. I did find that more comfortable than the actual queen bed I had. The staff was friendly, only a 5 minute walk from the beach. The area does have a few homeless people around but they weren’t a bother. I would only recommend if you are not looking to spend much. Overall, i enjoyed my stay after being moved.

Comparing the hotel from the provided pictures versus the hotel and rooms in real life was a very underwhelming feeling as well experience overall. First arrival thoughts and feelings were outdated, underwhelming, and feeling like we got scammed due to having the expectations from the pictures of the hotel and rooms provided on the Ewa Beach Hotel website. When actually arriving at the hotel room, once walking in already feels like it's not cleaned well and cramped because of how small the main room and bathroom is. One of the charging outlets towards the bed side didn't work for the duration of our 4 day stay, the kitchenette was not what we've expected and the microwave was displaced on the table rather than what the picture displayed on the website which was above the small metal stove and sink. The bathroom was very small and cramped; specifics about the bathroom was that the shower head as well as the plastic that surrounds the light switch wasn't screwed in properly, toilet felt small for adults to use, and this is the first hotel that doesn't provide the bathroom complementaries of a shower cap, q-tips, shampoo and conditioner. I guess the "positives" about this hotel is the location because everything is within walking distance in Waikiki (ex. zoo, beach, abc stores, restaurants, etc.) it's more budget friendly than surrounding hotels around the general area, and it's at least a roof over your head.

Always a problem with the hotel key. I probably went to the front desk at least 5 times during our 2 week stay. Location is amazing and perfect. Hotel parking is always sold out, and you just gotta park somewhere else. Room is actually clean and not smelly. Employees are always super helpful and greet you every time.

Rooms are Old and Dated .1970 style. Location is Great Staff is Friendly and Helpful. Definitely a 2 Star property. If you need a parking space they are very limited and if you get one they charge a daily fee.

Our family of 4 stayed here to do a couple of things on Oahu before jumping over to Maui. The rooms were just OK. There is limited parking at the hotel site and we had to park a couple of blocks away at a partnering hotel in a safe garage. That worked out to be OK. Anything in the Honolulu area is just difficult to move around and park, so when we left the hotel, we left for the entire day. If you are looking for a hotel room to sleep in and that is pretty much it, then this will be OK. The kitchenette is nothing special. You likely aren't going to use anything more than a microwave in this room. The beds were not super comfortable. The desk did have beach towels as an amenity, and Waikiki beach is a four minute walk. I might stay here again in the future. The front desk staff were friendly, and the one time we requested some fresh towels, that happened pretty quickly.

Wonderful location, wonderful staff, and definitely cheaper than other hotels nearby but the rooms need an overhaul. I think the cleaning staff work hard, but no amount of scrubbing can erase old stains off the soft furnishings and carpet. Old bathrooms are always problematic.

The photos in the internet are not what the actual rooms look like. Don’t be fooled. The hotel needs a major renovation, it is very old and worn out. The rooms, lobby and elevator have a bad smell, moldy and funky. For the price you pay, there are many other better hotels around the area. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s criminal what the hotel charges for their rooms. Read actual reviews before you book. I did not.

Positive: It was close to the beach Negative: They gave me a twin size bed for $----. For 2 nights, $54 parking, I said no room service They still went into my room and my stuff inside my bag was gone through. The main entrance is in an alley. You can hear everything in the hall way.
