One plaque is available to read if you look for it. Not much of a monument for this memorable event and the dirt road leading to it was not an obvious route to take. However, the canyon that EK attempted, is awesome to look at. There is also a nice walkway to look at the canyon more effectively. No picnic or bathroom facilities.
As others have mentioned it's a small plaque and he actually jumped from a place up to the canyon from here..
Love this bridge over the Snake River. We were so lucky to have been able to see 3 base jumpers go off the bridge. Those crazy guys! The bridge is beautiful & the visitor center is very nice. I'd advise you all to go see the bridge & maybe you'll be lucky too!
Definitely worth the visit. Nice place to hang out and chill to the view. Awesome views of the Perrine bridge and close by all the shoppes
The volunteers at the Visitor's Center we're so nice (Dolly was very helpful!) Took in the sites, saw some kayakers and bridge jumpers with parachutes. Lots of people jogging and riding on the trail made me feel that everyone loves coming here, it's no surprise as to why!
This is the memorial plaque, NOT the jump site. You can drive right to the base of the jump site and park feet away, allowing you to climb the ramp. But this memorial is miles away, right next to Perrine Bridge, in the heart of town. Come here to read the story before/after you see the real thing. If you want to save a trip, walk from this memorial under the bridge and look to the horizon along the canyon edge. You'll see the dirt ramp easily from there.
Walked past this while looking at the bridge: I can still remember the attempt back in 1974. The old ramp can still be seen in the distance.
A must see, The Snake River Gorge, Bridge and park below. The Shoshone Falls nearby is amazing and the small town their also gives contrast to the enormity of the Falls. At the west side of the bridge is an observation platform and parking and an information center.
Believe me when I say DON'T BUY A HOT TUB FROM ANYPLACE ELSE WITHOUT TALKING TO BRADY'S FIRST! Aaron educated us on the differences between brands and was not a pushy salesman. He was very patient with all of our questions and didn't even seem bother
My family of four come to this place almost biweekly. We have had awesome service every time. The owners are phenomenal and all staff are very friendly. We dined in tonight and the owner brought our daughter an early valentines toy and for that we wi
