Fun place! I had the pot stickers for an app which were tasty and the stuffed cabbage! It hit the spot on a chilly day. The beers were good and the staff was super sweet. Chill atmosphere, and will come definitely back
I visited it thinking it would be an awesome spot for German food, there there isn't any flair to it. I didn't the options and it didnt seem like they had anything German on the menu, minimal items that stand out as authentic to me. Service is fine, nothing special or felt like it was super welcoming or anything. The atmosphere is more like a corner store feel with no excitement to it, the prices are high for what it is compared to others... Service Bread: These were hard! Like old bread that they toasted up. The tastes where you leave bread out too long and toast it up, hard to bite. Sausage Platter: The sausages were ok, I wouldn't expect any of it is homemade or anything, it was just expensive sausages you can biy at the any German market. Spatzel: There side spatzel tastes like nothing, it really did taste like water and flour. There was no spices or flavor to it, extremely bland. Not my new hotspot or anything~
We love this place - the food is always good. We lived in Europe , Germany and visited Austria frequently and the food tastes pretty authentic to us and the service is great. In fact, we understand that the owner is Austrian, not sure if he’s also the chef though. We were there on a Friday and they had a lovely young couple playing German music, which added to the atmosphere and was really nice. The only light critique we’d offer would be that the ventilation is not great there - there’s a good bit of greasy odor in the dining room… but that can be super easily overlooked for the awesome food and nice ambiance! I like their chicken schnitzel and German potato salad, while my husband loves their jaegerschnitzel. The place is favored by locals and regulars and one guy told us he’s been coming there from Maryland. Great place all around. We’ll definitely be back.
Third visit here, and the place is clean, comfortable chairs, they have a local artist are on the walls, ready to buy, which gives it a very nice touch. It’s definitely a family restaurant and it seems wind that is favored by the community because normally it is busy. The food is so fresh, you can feel like you can taste it and it’s really good. We ordered the weinerschnitzel (lightly breaded pork) with egg noodles and also jaegerschnitzel and sauteed potatoes! Needless to say they were fresh and delicious. The dishes are decent sized and the sauces served were really good. Mine was with a tomato base, my husband’s was heavenly since it had mushrooms and it made the sauce very tasty. This place doesn’t disappoint. Imagine yourself in a bistro in Germany or Belgium eating home made awesome food. A taste of Europe in the DMV. Not pretentious but delicious!
The weinerschnitzel was very satisfactory. Fried to perfection and pork meat tastes great. Good portion too. This is the lunch portion (those are a couple of potato pancakes below the two meats).
Great little restaurant. The food is delicious. The couple that owns it is German and Asian so the menu has mostly German but a few extra offerings. The Thai tea is great. The Wiener schnitzel is amazing and ordering extra sides is a must so you can taste them all.
Positives: Beautifully decorated and always clean. Love the locally bought art on the walls. We have a regular social group (15+) that eats here every month or so, and the owners keep the restaurant open AFTER HOURS to serve our group personally. (We don't stay over to be rude, the owners and our group organizers discussed this, and they offered to do this for us). Talk about above and beyond service! Food is always delicious. Wait staff is attentive and kind. Negatives: Like others have mentioned, this is the thinnest wiener schnitzel I've ever seen. It is three pieces, but even so they are remarkably thin. Potato salad serving was small. Overall taste: 7/10. Four stars. "Great."
I had lunch here today and read reviews before I went about "a lot of native German customers so food must be good". As native living in Germany for more than 40 years my opinion about the food is "soso" or in German "na ja". I ordered "Gemischter Salat" or mixed salad. I was baffled when the $6 plate arrived. First, in Germany a Gemischter Salat always has a green salad base accompanied by other salads. Here the green salad was missing, they had arranged few half wilted leaves with no dressing in the middle. The other salads were pickled carrots (tasted good but never had pickled carrots in a Gemischter salat before), cucumber (ok taste), red cabbage (good) and German potatoe salad. That one was actually really good, but so few pieces that it was ridicules. Pro-tip: don't arrange tiny amounts of salad on the biggest plate you have. It just looks sad or like left overs. Then i had wiener schnitzel with cream sauce and Spätzle. Technically the Spätzle were Knöpfle, but that is small and not really important detail. The portion was super small, in fact it was less Knöpfle than sauce. The sauce itself was ok, on a positive side it had fresh mushrooms in it, but it had basically no seasoning. On to the Schnitzel. First impression was that it's a lot of meat. 3 pieces. In Germany you usually get 1 max 2 Schnitzel. Real surprise was that each Schnitzel was only 1mm thin. I have never ever in my life seen such thin Schnitzel. In German we would say "ein Hauch von nichts". Again, the meat was not seasoned whatsoever and it was deep fried for too short which resulted in a very pale color. Summary: not sure if i will return
Hookah and food was amazing! We ate the food so quickly because it was so good so we have no pictures. Me and my friends had the Lega Tibs, seasoned French fries, and Ethiopian coffee. Itâs nice because this place offered iced hose which most place
I had an amazing experience training with JD. She customized the workout according to my needs and she motivated me to achieve my goals. She is obsessed with forms and explains every workout on what we are working on which has helped me to do my work
Iâve been twice and plan to go back for more. The teachers/artists are very helpful and give step-by-step instructions for painting. They have a wide variety of paintings and post new options every week. They have options for wine/beer/cider tastin
Was visiting the area and like to try the local places. Ask a few folks while walking around if this place was good and they said it was. Very delicious charbroiled chicken. Definitely char flavor verses typical rotisserie taste you will find elsewhe
After spending two weeks in Greece in 2020 and eating 4-6 meals a day (had to, so much good food!), I can honestly say this is an authentic 100% legit place. Amazing authentic food and great customer service! Don't miss out on this hidden gem that's
Even though Iâm only about 25 min away, I wish this place was closer. One of my favorite parks/farms in Northern VA. The animals are all well taken care of, the farm is very clean. Thereâs also a very cool old time carousel (typically on during t
I stopped by & grabbed a few soups I thought would be good for my lunches at work. I happened to be in Reston for an appointment, but I'm feeling a monthly trip from North Bethesda, MD is worth it!! The soups are sooo good. Love â¤ï¸ love!! I'll be
I recently visited Chatwala restaurant and had a delightful experience. The Panner Chawala and Aloo Paratha were a true treat â they tasted just like homemade with the perfect touch of authenticity and less oil. The addition of a small playroom wit
The restaurant was lovely and smelled like something delicious was going on! The tables were pristine and just enough holiday decor to be tasteful. Our server, Mohammed was very attentive and the food was hot and the presentation on beautiful plates.
