Only redeeming quality is being able to hide in the mcdonalds across the road Had to block my credit card because they ASKED for my pin, rather than just letting me put it in and refused to let us stay otherwise. (This place seemed shady as hell but was our only option) Only friendly person on staff hated it there Room smelled strongly of urine and all the sheets had a bunch of stains of every imaginable color. Curtains had holes in them, electrical sockets unsafe, bathtub covered in black… something Do not recommend
Room 8's bathroom stunk like stale urine. Bathub and curtain very moldy. Towels should have been thrown out a decade ago. Room was 85 degrees when entering. Sun shining into single pane windows which are terrible for keeping out heat. Fantastic location. Safe area Would not stay here again.
Horrible experience. Pure fraud. Stay away. They show a room. You pay, then they offer you another room very filthy, stinky and not cleaned for months. Probably used by low life prostitues due to very ugly bed sheets full of brown and yellow stains. You refuse to stay there but your money is already gone. The sign at the reception says "NO REFUNDS". I told the manager that l will call the police if I do not get my money back. He was not surprized, he must hear that a lot and he started laughing and joking about that it is a civil matter so they will not intervene. I did not lose a lot of money but I will still proceed to file a complaint against their business license due to dishonest business practices praying on naive tourists. Pure ripoff. It should be shut down by authorities due to epidemiological threat. Also, be aware that the positive reviews of this place are most like fake because there are no rooms there which could meet even the minimal standards for humans.
One of most finest motels In all of Chicago IL. How many hotels are right cross the street from a McDonald's. Cheap eats Cheap room rates. Plus If your looking for a friend for a couple of hours to come back to your room. Your In luck one of top motels for girls on Chicago List Crawler to use. To run their trade for couple of days. I had a 4 night stay and had 4 different valve meals from MCD and 4 different female friends over during my stay. I will be return In September for work and I know were I will be booking my reservations
I stayed here for a few months and I have zero complaints! Staff, especially Sam, were very courteous and respectful! It's somewhere I'd definitely go back to! The housekeeping was up to par as well!
I arrived at the motel a little after 10am and asked for an early check in and was charged a $30 early check in fee so the total for a room overnight was $119 I gave the clerk $120 cash and he kept my $1 change. They charged a $5 room key deposit as well to be returned when I brought the key back at check out. I had looked this place up online and the room that was shown online was clean and looked nice with updated drapery, art on the wall, clean and modern bedding with what looked to be a smart tv. The room I was given was nothing like that. The carpet was filthy, the walls were dirty and damaged, the curtains were brand new in 1970 and had missing hook rings and were stained yellow and brown from years of wear and cigarette smoke. The windows were filthy and the air conditioner/heating unit was filthy and missing buttons and was not sufficient in either size or capacity to properly heat and/or cool the room. I found the landline phone that is supposed to be supplied for guest use in each room in the bottom drawer of a dresser smashed to bits and pieces and completely unusable. The tv was a relic came from the generation of flat screens when they were first introduced in the year 2000. It said it was equipped with direct tv but the when I turned it on and tried to get it to work it it kept saying it need to be programmed and then I realized it was missing the Ethernet cord. I went down to the front desk and asked for a replacement phone and to get help with the television and was totally rebuffed and yelled at by the elderly man working the desk and then his grandson or son (not sure which) informed that I needed to make sure the tv was input was on HDMI 2 and it should work, even though I had already tried that and it didn’t. Oh yeah , I forgot to mention the condition of the derelict, dirty, disgusting bathroom which only came with one medium sized bath towel, a small face towel and washcloth made of the cheapest and thinnest bath linen material I had ever seen. The shower curtain was old and dirty and plastic and was missing curtain rings which were barely holding the curtain up. The water pressure was almost non existent and the water came out cloudy. When I asked the front desk for some extra towel they refused and were extremely rude to me again and when I used the ones provided and needed fresh ones they refused and said that they only supply new linens and 8am the following day and when that time came I still had nothing. When I went to check out after putting my personal belongings in my car I got to the front desk at 11:14am and the awnry, rude older gentleman refused to give me back my $5 deposit because I had went over the time frame and informed me that it was normally a $10 fee for every hour after the 11am check out time and because I went over the time limit the was going to keep my deposit and call it “even”. All in all it was one of the worst Motel experiences I have ever had for an expensive price point. I beg anyone considering to patronize this establishment to either sleep I there car or on a nearby park bench both of which I’m sure are cleaner , safer and better than anything the Esquire Motel has to offer.
Manager is unprofessional and he seems like running some illegal activity. Asking me why i parked in his premises?! He was knocking on my car window. He didnt know my bf is a sheriff and we just rented a room! And i was just leaving the dirty motel
1st of all anyone that comes and stays the night here. You will be welcomed with open arms. Sam (manager) and family who run the motel are truly a class act. They truly treat guests with respect. Thats what sold me into staying here. The gentleman and the lady who do the room service. They are truly nice, always welcoming people with their smiles everytime I saw them. They don't speak much English but again their smile and genuiness to make sure you know your stay Is truly appreciated. Truly a good place and I highly recommend them to all my friends and family. Sincerely : Julio and Barbara
